  • I have a Takamine EG404C LTD and I can not find any information on the guitar whatsoever. it is similar to the guitar in the video except mine is made of quilted maple and the fingerboard is the same rosewood.

  • I wish you would have told us the price of the guitar at the time. Do you still have this guitar and do you still like and use it?

  • Nice video, good review. I am thinking of getting a Takamine GN51ceb g, played around with it a bit at Guitar Center and really liked it. Your review of the G series helps a lot.

  • You really don't need to be doing guitar reviews if you only half ass know what you are talking about. Those "string holders" are called pegs. And since you don't know what the nut is made of, the nut, saddle, and "string holders" are all made of plastic. I don't know exactly what model that is (you never disclosed the model), but I can tell you that it is a Takamine G Series because my Takamine has the same pre amp.

  • I have a cherry red takamine g series EG560C made in Korea it’s 20 years old from Tin Pan Alley in London. It’s been round the world with me and a little banged up but I wouldn’t part with it. Plays great for me plugged in or not.

  • Heard Tom Hollowday in Tokyo club other night–he played old Elvis songs plus other oldies–phenomenal voice and he was getting a truly phenomenal sound out of his acoustic/electric guitar–turned out it was a Takamine. He's an all-round great vocalist/guitarist and said he never plays anything now but Takamine. Seems though Takamine is always making changes and never really has same lineup from year to year.

  • I got one of these. My own fault I guess. I got it because of the rave reviews and didn't play it till it arrived. It is without doubt the worst sounding piece of shit I have ever owned. My 47 year old Framus responds to a new set of strings like a proper guitar should. Advice…play it before you buy it, don't believe everything you hear on here.

  • I was given this guitar as  a gift when I moved. It sounds great and has the clearest of tone. Its also much louder than my other acoustics–which are of lesser quality. Even though i didn't buy it and I'm not sure of the price, i would recommend this in the $450-500 range.

  • The string height with this guitar is around 2mm, Similar to an electric. Any lower, however, and you will most certainly have buzz. Hope it helps. GRD

  • I like the tone of the guitar, it's clear. I may buy one. However, the only guitars I've played with super fantastic bass are expensive Martins. If you don't mind my asking: what gauge of strings are you using?
