  • Thank you so much for producing this very informative video, I recently bought the Tascam DP-24, and am really impressed with it. I love having everything permanently hooked to it in the studio, and all I have to do is sit down and turn it all on, and can focus on creating. The quality and features of this unit have far surpassed my expectations before buying one. I have no regrets. I was going to get the DP-32 but didn't like that it has only 8 single tracks and all the rest are stereo, not saying this to discourage anyone else, but for my own preference. Thank you again

  • For me is important, that the Multitrack can Audio Quantize, Midi to record Synthesizer and has got enough Prozessorpower to use Effects on every Single Track. Is this possible with R20/DP32?
Further more I need the possibility to import Midi and Audiotracks from extern to practice Guitar or play (record in clean) with Amp Models like Boss BR 80 and continue working in DAW. Is this possible here?

  • I can tell you I've been recording with the Tascam 24 SD recorder for 3-5 years now and overall have been happy with it……….up until now. IS THERE ANY F'ING RECORDER THAT WON'T F UP??? I just spent hours recording a new song and mixed and mastered it and now it won't let me play it back!!! Keeps coming up with error message…. Damn how I wish we had analog reel to reel again!

  • Looks like the biggest draw back would be that tiny screen. Would be great if you could connect a monitor that would make the screen larger

  • Would one of these be capable of making a drum cover rather than using a PC (DAW)? I got the Model 24 when it 1st came out to trsck an accustic drum kit. It turns out one channel 1, and 2 were all I could record to, and was not a "DAW" controller. I felt taken by the way it wss marketed. I use Studio One, and the Model 12 (IS a DAW controller) won't recognize the Tascam. Anyway, I WOULD be able to record 8 tracks together with one of these?

  • The Tascam machines are way better than computer based DAWs as they do not glitch and your up and running as soon as it boots up. No messing about trying to remember what page you recorded on or wading through so much effects that by the time you are ready to record you are already brain dead and all the inspiration and creativity you had has gone through a black hole of boredom.

  • If I had a cd of a vocalist singing with a studio orchestra, can this device be used so only the ochestra could be heard, not the vocalist? So I can then sing a solo with that cd recorded orchestra? Or is such a function like that not possible due to legal issues involved?

  • If these Tascam machines had a port that gave you the ability to connect to an external monitor for their graphics; they would find themselves getting a bit closer to challenging the PC Daw for marketability, especially if their graphical interface gave you something similar to a PC Daw… Why they have never thought about this escapes me? or correct me if I am wrong do they have this feature?

  • If you record stuff correctly on this platform the exported stems are good enough to be exported and worked on in any professional studio mix/master etc. But with a bit of external gear you can get very professional results. I always use mine in 24 bit mode for highest quality, but uses more space on the SD card. But the cards are so cheap it’s really not an issue. If you are new to recording it takes a bit of getting used to, but there’s loads of great tutorials on YouTube. The manual doesn’t really explain everything that well.
