Taylor Academy 12E-N Classical Guitar, played by Nick Hosford | Gruhn Guitars in Nashville
This Taylor Academy 12E-N acoustic/electric nylon string guitar is appealing in playability, tone, and price. Tonally, the wood pairing of layered sapele back and sides with a solid Lutz spruce top, together with the body’s internal bracing, project a warm, mellow nylon voice with crisp percussive appeal that suits a variety of musical styles and responds well to both fingerpicking and flatpicking.
In this video, Nick plays a piece for classical guitar called “Lágrima” by Francisco Tárrega.

Amazingly beautiful sound this seriously talented young man can play the guitar. This is the music we shall hear in heaven!!! I want to hear his entire collection every day!!! Thank you, Nicholas!!!
Amazing, what song is this?
sounds better than most cordobas in the same price range
just sucks it looks like an OM dreadnought how dumb…
hI! I need to know how Academy 12eN compares with the 212ceN. I can see different woods and preamp. It worth the difference of cost? And what is the difference in sound? I have 1 classical guitar and 1 flamenco spanish handmade guitar, but I need some with preamp..
I love mine. Thumbpicking sounds great on it. Very percussive on the 2 and 4.
Can I ask how the action was on this guitar from the factory please? Being a hybrid is it low like a steel string acoustic or high like a classical please? Thanks
Very nice! Exactly why I want to pick up a Taylor nylon. I own some wonderful steel string Martins, Guild, Yamaha, and also a Taylor. I didn't want to break the bank on a nylon but to finish my next album, I want that sound just as you played. Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful!
Very nice performance. "Lagrima" translates to "teardrops". Tarrega was on a lengthy tour, (since they didn't have recording sales) to provide for his family. Missing his children, he wrote this piece for them.
Parts of this sounds like Little Martha by Duane Allman, I wonder if this inspired him? Great playing my friend and great piece!
This is the kind of demo of this guitar i was looking for. Nice to hear it played like a classical guitar
Fantastic. Just bought one today for an upgrade to my beginner classical guitar. Good to hear a tarrega on it. Gracias
Low notes sounds not nice.
nice and now I wonder how flamenco would sound on this guitar …
Wonderfully played on a superb sounding instrument! Brand of strings please?
Can you play it again on a Ramirez A1? The Taylor sounds like it’s heavily built with a neck block construction
Beautifully played…Sweet rich tone from the Taylor… Something I have always wanted to play is classical guitar but it has gotten too late now.. Enjoyed this immensely
