  • Why do they layer the Koa on the back and sides vs just using solid koa? I’m assuming that it is cheaper although I don’t know why it would be. Seems like taking the time and all to do the layering would make it more expensive to use. Does it somehow affect the sound?

  • Hey Tony—-I really hope you read these comments—but I need your help? Can't decide between the Taylor GS Mini Mahogany or the GS Mini Koa! I've always loved the sound/tone of mahogany wood! I do have already a Guild M-240 (spruce top/mahogany back and sides, you probably already know that!) BUT I like the range of this smaller guitar: mid-range and I also like the pickup that's already included! Just can't decide! Also it seems that some of these guitars especially the mahogany come with a mahogany back or a sapele back! Or is that a different issue or year? It gets confusing—very confusing! Thanks Tony, signed "Confused in Virginia"!!!

  • I just recently bought the Martin dreadnought Jr and had so much trouble with it. Now I'm thinking of exchanging it for this one.

  • So if this is called a travel guitar (which some sellers do) does the case fit in overhead airline baggage compartment ? After all, the goal of a travel guitar is to keep it with you during travel so baggage handlers don't destroy it and you don't have to pay extra baggage. No where have I seen a size on the case but if you can't carry it as carry on baggage on an airplane, DON"T call it a travel guitar, no matter how good it sounds which I admit it does sound good on this demo

  • When I first saw the GS Mini Koa, I fell in love with this beautiful little guitar. Hearing you play it just confirms that, I love the sound! Aesthetically, I like the clean look of the Koa without the pick guard (just my personal preference). Thanks for a great review!
