Regardless of what you think sounds better, Let’s take a moment to appreciate the fact that we’re living in times where we can start a computer and get a solid guitar sound out of it… hats off to the logic developers on doing a good job ????????
I find Joey’s videos very technically intensive ????riff solo clips are more entertaining and relaxing ????????
The $0 rig doesn’t sound as good, but you can work with that just fine.
The $2000 rig does sound better but $2000 better…? IMO, I dont think so. If he had spent some more time dialing in the sound with the plug-ins Id bet that he could almost match the $2000 rig exactly. Of course, the context here is just recording the guitar… This scenario in a live performance setting would likely have way different results.
I prefer the $0.00 rig. Sounds more 'natural' and 'vibey' to me.
A true wizard doesn't need any special wand, and you are a true magician, young man, no need for any specific gear, but I think you already know that ????. Happy new year.
It's easy to have an opinion when you compare it like this. But if you made a record with the $0 rig I'm sure no one would would complain about the guitar sound.
cool now do it in garage band since logic costs more than nothing and the plugins it has arent all in garage band
if you started with last part, and told people that its XXXX$ rig…noone would think it just plugins…
The 2000 $-Rig sounds way more better
Thank you!
Happy New Year, Joey! The $0 rig has such a unique sound—you'd never guess it was free when blended into a mix. I'm curious, are you familiar with capture-based plugins like Tonex or NAM (which is entirely free)? Would you prefer those over the solution you showcased?
Nice video! This proves that your creativity, process/workflow is not 'hindered' by the lack of physical amps/effects. It's all about getting the most out of what you have available at your disposal. Well done mate!
IK Multimedia has some great free plugins – such as Tonex CS – it is not as good as the full Tonex MAX and is mean to get you hooked on Tonex to buy the full version. But I will say the AMP sounds are probably better than the ones that come with logic(Amplitube 5 CS is also pretty good)
The $0, sounds a lot better, it just needs more sustain in the lead sound, and a free compressor can fix that.
Actually, that's not a $0 rig, since logic pro is not free ????.
Both sounds are good though, and what ever you play with, will sounds good, because your playing is fantastic!
Thank you for this awesome video.
Sounds differen’t but very good.
,,,,,but just get the free NAM plugin’ and and Tonehunt and you will be in ampheaven????????
The $2000 system because the sound is more dynamic and has more depth. But that's just my opinion. Thanks for testing it out. 🙂
What a lot of folks discount is that their physical amps also sound like this. In isolation. In a room, a physical amp reacts to the physics and the layout of the room. A plugin is an isolated environment, and then your speakers (hopefully a set of decent monitors) push out that incredibly dry sound. There's no natural reverb or vibrations from the walls, from the windows, from the door, or the roof. People claim this is because it's "digital", but the reality is, it all has to do with how isolated the signal/sound is.
Happy New Year, Joey! ????
