  • I like your videos, so this is just feedback. The high pitched guitar was out of place, that needs more work, more dissonance, because it sounded out of place, as it was too clean, a bit of a "hello fellow kids" vibe. With adding some major or minor seconds to it, it would still jump out but not jump off, if you know what I mean. Try out, test, refine, repeat. In the end, experienced song writers only incorporate parts of a genre to meld them with their own bits.

I agree that it is one of the heaviest sounding genres, achieved through production excellence, which is also its Achilles heel: I wonder how these bands sound live, after 15 minutes of soundcheck/equipment changes. Getting layers of synth and reverby guitars alongside everything else is usually a very hard challenge in the studio as well.

  • There's a band called "Tomorrow we die" that uses a very strange guitar sound effect, similar to this but with a kind of phase, it's a sound that I would like to know how to make

  • This is actually the first time I hear the word Thall. I might be too old, I guess, lol. And yeah, definitely not my thing. But nevertheless, awesome job with the production, as usual!

  • I still really don"t know what Thall is ???? even if your mix does not sound like thall, it is still for all of us an inspiritation and it sounds great. Thats all that matters. Thanks!

  • I love this style. One of my favorite things about it is how much its popularity upsets the old heads and "that's not real music!" types. Question: what style of metal is the Quake 2 soundtrack? I've been listening to Descent Into Cerberon nonstop.

  • How they do it live: they slave to a laptop. In-ear click/reference tracks from a DAW that sends MIDI to their WhammyDT pedals and anything else they use.

  • RESINGTON I NEED AN ALBUM OF ALL THAT! the problem in thall is getting a distinct sound, this was eye crushing
    Love it!

  • I would never chase this style maybe in the sense of running away from it… Metal has always been about the mid range and overall balance…. Tuning your guitar to Z minor or using an 8 string doesnt automatically make a song heavy…. When guitars operate within the same low end frequency spectrum as a standard bass guitar, its pretentious fuckery to my ears…. keep in mind, im doggin this style of music.. not YOU.. i dig your channel homie…As much seething hatred and contempt as i have for that style of…. eh hem "Metal", this mix is really damn good and balanced…

  • I thought Thall was a new band or something. Maybe they should call it 'Bent Djent' instead, which would be like a re-industrialized industrial nu-Armageddon metal. Anyway, what you did there is really amazing, and the tracks show all the effort you put into it. My record is 60 audio tracks, which took me 6 months to finish. I'll never do that again! Interesting stuff here, and I learned something once again on your channel. Hopefully, this might make it onto your next Collection compilation, but we shall see. Thanks for the awesome video and rundown! ????????????

  • Thall is more like demonstration of production skills rather than music itself. Super low does not equal super heavy. Strapping young lad is crushing super heavy in open c tuning, no chances to be beaten….

  • if you tuned one octave lower then this then i would classify it as thall but to me it just kinda sounds like deathcore with a bit of pizzazz to it, not bad for a first attempt though

  • Don’t think this genre sounds particularly heavy. Sounds like skrillex with a ‘real’ guitar.

Something like dragged into sunlight is way heavier and more oppressive

  • Man, what a killer mix that was! Your ability to change styles so easily is very impressive! Great job man!!

  • sounds cool! the snare plate was great. I'm surprised that Buster uses the old big bottom, it's kind dated.
