  • The best guitar is the one that you can afford and feels good in the hands.. A name doesn't make a guitar better than another.. There's absolutely nothing a 500,000 dollar guitar can do that a $100 dollar guitar can't.. You can hand a beginner a 59 burst and it's going to sound like a beginner playing the guitar, you could hand EVH or Clapton or anyone else a $100 dollar guitar and it's going to sound amazing!
Put your priorities in order, practice is more valuable and will take you further than a expensive guitar with very little practice…
It's never about the gear, it's all about the person using it…
Jimmy Page could sell out a show tonight and use a Squier the whole night and sound amazing, and only the internet guitar people would care…

  • The Best guitar is the one you like to play. I have just come to your channel and it is great. I love a working man's view on guitars. I have been on my own journey. I have been buying each style of guitar. The cheapest PRS Se is my favorite. Followed by a Japanese Grass Roots lp. I have made a bunch of my own too. Play what feels great. I hope you keep the channel going Jayce.

  • A couple of months ago, I bought a silverburst t-type with a rail humbucker in the bridge, and a regular pickup in the neck. The guitar plays phenomenal! Even though the tuners are locking, it needs better ones, and the pickups aren't the best.

  • The best guitar out there is the one you can steal from the Joe Bonamassa collection!

  • Perfect video Jayce!!! I meant to add in the last video that the Matsumoku/Skylark line were originally sold through JC Penney's catalogs. A mail order company, Music Emporium, bought the entire lot of them from JC Penney in the late seventies. Hope you're having a great weekend.

  • The "best" guitar is the one that inspires you to pick it up and play. Doesn't matter if it's a Martin D-45 or a Squier affinity. If it preys upon your mind and you can't wait to pick it up, THAT is a perfect guitar. Right now that's my Martin 000-13 and my Jet telecaster.

  • I have a lyx pro, the neck is perfect. Any new guitar with sharp frets is garbage imo.

  • I own two of those Donner DST-400s; the fretboard wood is laurel. I don't really feel the wood when I play, because the frets are too tall to let my fingers touch much but string. That means that — feel wise — I don't really care what the fretboard material is. Looks wise — well, I like darker better than lighter but it's not a deal breaker by itself.

  • Great video! It is hard to get an accurate account of how these guitars are actually rated. I really like your channel, you do a great job at assessing guitars and giving an accurate idea of what these guitars actually are. I have some decent guitars, but I bought those when I had an income, I am disabled now so I really don't have any money, and $500 is a lot of money to me, nevertheless $1000. Thank you for your hard work.

  • You should check out the Mitchell line of guitars and the Rogue line of guitars. I own several and have made modifications on them but I think that they are underrated.

  • This is great.

I don't think i have a favorite of my 8 cheap guitars. They are all awesome. The only one i don't like is the Affinity Neck for some reason. That thing sounds flat on any body i put it on.

  • If you feel like it, you could get the debut strat and change pick up configurations. Jim Lill already did a video showing us that what really matters in a guitar is the pick ups.

  • Firefly guitar's are phenomenal for the price. I bought 8 last year no inconsistency in mine. The Tease guitars are really coming up. They will be Stiff competition in the coming months. But please no more Strats please manufacture something somewhat unique.

  • We don't play electric guitar much but we do have one. When Noah decided to purchase an electric, he researched a lot and for his budget, and what he wanted, he ended up getting a Schecter C1 EA. Some day maybe I'll review that guitar…lol… We will see. Great video and some good chooses on your part, in my opinion.
