THE BEST EPIPHONE GUITARS OF 2024…

Guitars of the Day! Re-capping the best Epiphone guitars of the year. My picks were the “Inspired by Gibson Custom” Les Paul Custom (finally, an Epi LPC with the Gibson “Open Book” headstock), Dave Grohl’s DG-335 (maybe the most requested Epiphone signature of all time), and the USA Coronet (that marks the return of American solidbody Epiphones for the first time in over 50 years).

  • Did you ever open a book? The old Epiphone headstock looks more like an open book than the Gibson one.

  • Muddy Probuckers? I don't get the hate against Probuckers. Sure, they're no boutique Bill Lawrence pickup but they're pretty darn good for a stock pickup. I never saw the need to change them in my old LP Custom.

  • This might be a controversial opinion but I also think that the yungblud sg junior should be an honourable mention because a white sg junior for under 600 is an amazing deal. I got one for Christmas and it’s probably the best guitar I’ve played in a long while

  • I played the 200$ epiphone Les Paul special at a shop the other day and it played better than some of the 600-700$ guitars I tried.

  • I have the 2022 IBG Les Paul Custom Blackback, also have my Gibson SG Standard with 57 classic pickups… let me tell you, Probuckers are really underrated, obviously the 57 sounds warmer and more articulated, but let’s be honest, 490/498 are not the best pickups in the brand… sometimes I just prefer my Epi ????

  • I found that the Kalamazoo headstock looks pretty good with the custom binding on it. I wouldn’t say it’s bad though

  • It's nice they made a cheaper version of the Gibson les Paul but it sounds really good if you get the one with the Gibson pickups but epiphone did make some great guitars ..

  • If a the shape of the headstock completely puts you off from playing a guitar….
I don't think the guitar is problem

  • Ahhhh, that unshielded electronics cavity with thin wires and noname pots… Looks like 1k$, screams quality.

  • The Kalamazoo headstock is WAY better than the old epiphone headstock lol.
I think it’s good for Epiphone.
Yeah the Gibson headstock is better, but the Kalamazoo headstock is way better for Epiphone. It’s slowly bridging that gap

  • I was given for my 60th birthday an Epiphone Guitar, Les Paul model, Hallow body, Florentine made in the Indonesian factory!
Plays similar to an ES-335. And very much as well as a Les Paul!
Now, by its serial number, is no longer being manufactured. So, now, a vintage 9 years later!?!
    Love their products!

  • Sorry, but can someone explain what SEO stands for in this case? ????

  • DG335 is $1300 and doesn't come with a rosewood board. Never, ever would I spend over $1k for an Epi. Probably not even $800. $1300 will buy you a new American fender or a slightly used nice ass gibson

  • If only Epiphones werent like $600 at the lowest, its actually insane that they cost so much when they're the "budget" option

  • The K-Zoo headstock isn't awful
They were trying to give it some meaning and grounding in a familiar design.

If anything, the open book is wrong, it's not a Gibson but it's made to look like it is.

  • Is there any way to get a similar les paul from Epiphone with the d taper? I have baby hands and that necks sounds way more comfortable for me specifically.

    Reply
  • The Kalamazoo headstock looks way better than what we Epiphone used to have. So…

    Reply
  • Why is epiphone usa making cornets? Why not an SG, LesPaul, explorer, flying V, es-anything? Is it because "they" dont want to cut into the Gibson market? Who plays a cornet? Whats the point?

    Reply
  • I really hope they'll reissue the ET-270 now that it's getting more recognition since Cobain played one. I'd love one of those things

    Reply
  • Aaaaand makes the Epiphones as unafortable as the Gibsons ????. As the juniors – beginners Line budget – going to custom priced nonequiped pieces of a DARK historie. And You fucking Tell me to not buy Chinese Made Guitars?????????????????????

    Reply
  • I've never understood how they can put MOP on an Epiphone but don't put them on the Gibson Standard line. Same with Esp, only customs get MOP.
