The Best Fender Tweed Amp – Fender ’57 Custom Deluxe Amplifier Review ????

Welcome to my review of the Fender ’57 Custom Deluxe Amplifier. The Fender ’57 Custom Deluxe amplifier is a simple amp with a simple design. There’s a single tone control and two volume controls for the guitar and microphone input. Channels can be jumped, but I wanted to showcase what you could do with this amplifier pushing the main guitar channel.

  • You didn’t even explore how the two channels are interactive, and then you could jumper with a patch cord.

  • Had one of these but sold it and got the tweed deluxe " the edge " model . It has a celestion blue in it plus a few tweeks the edge wanted. The things a monster. Only thing is, the thing is so loud but sweet .

  • Realy nice video but why did you put those ugly pickups to a Telecaster ? Why ??? If you want HBs just get a Les Paul ????

  • Supposedly, this is the amp that 'wouldn't behave.' Legend has it that Leo Fender intended the Tweed Deluxe to be able to produce clean tones, even when cranked.

    nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!

  • I picked one of these up a couple weeks ago. a long time dream amp. first impressions were "wow loud" if you want heavier overdrive. very full and rich tone. I ended up getting a Tone King attenuator (fits right inside), and now I can get those amazing over driven tones at more manageable volumes…I just LOVE the over drive tones. the amp is a little dark even with my tele and strat. so I run my Wampler Ecstasy overdrive pedal out front, just very slight overdrive but crank the treble on it….makes this amp sound so much better with that nice bite……amazing amp….

  • I got one of these this winter, and….I'm still trying to understand how it works and completely love it. Everything you do with the ridiculously few knobs shockingly changes things and gives you something new…with each guitar you plug into it. Truly odd and wonderful.

  • Dream amp. The older I get the more Fender Guy I become. I love all my weird stuff, I love my Peaveys, I love my Sunn Beta Lead, but nothing sounds like a Fender but a Fender.

  • If it's true to the 5e3 circuit it's one of Leo's best! A super cool amp to build and mod. I've built a bunch. My favorite next to the 1974x 18 watt Marshall. Solid rock tone with out the sound guy wanting to kill you ;0)

  • ITS VERY SIMILAR TO THE DELUXE REVERB 12 “ SPEAKER AS WELL , THE PRINCETON REVERB HAD A 10 “ WITH A VOLUME BOOSTER SWITCH , THE TWEED AMPS ARE A BLAST FROM THE PAST 50 ‘S ROCK – N – ROLL !!!

  • I can’t seem to find what is “Custom” about this model. Seems just like a standard Tweed Deluxe.

  • Great amp, I have the EC Tremolux version that hasn’t missed a beat in 10 years ownership. Super loud for 12ish watts and can do sparkling cleans used on full power.

  • I got a Lucas Miles, Made in Mentone, Melbourne, Fndr Dlx Twd, which is a vintage correct repro. The one you demo has a standby switch, which is handy, originals are even simpler! Fender did one for U2's the Edge which has a different speaker to make it more Pommy. It's the only amp on the planet that makes your guitar sound like it is supposed to sound.

  • For $2599 I expect Reverb as well. And even with that I won’t be buying this amp in this life time.

  • Maybe you can demo combining the 2 channels next time. I think they are interactive and that’s what people suggest makes it even better.

  • I have to say, the sound where bass strings modulate high strings with absolutely awful sounding distortion, is not at all to my liking. I’ve heard lots of lesser amps with this exact lack of ‘grace’. Honestly terrible breakup.

  • The Standard! Everyone needs to own one. By the way, you must be an admirer of Danny Gatton. I noticed the Joe Barden pickups!
