The Best NEW budget guitar brand that you’ve never heard of (but should)! Jet Guitars

I unbox and play through 6 of the brand new offerings from Jet Guitars. Starting at 150, these guitars have raised the bar for affordable guitars. Not just for beginners, there are some beautiful axes here that will surely make other guitar brands a little squeamish at the price.

  • I recently bought a JS-400 from a guy that I know. Barely played and still had all the scratch plate film in tact. The fit and finish on it is absolutely outstanding. The roasted maple neck feels and plays beyond its price point. Not to mention the way the neck joint and heel are carved. Very comfortable and dare I say, the best budget guitar ever? At $100 USD, it kinda feels like I stole it from him, but that was what he was asking and I couldn't pass on it. The sea foam green paint is well done and adds a vintage vibe that makes for a gorgeous looking instrument. Overall, a great guitar for both beginners and advanced players on a budget. Perfect gigging guitar. With a few mods, this guitar could be a true warrior!

  • Hi Andy, love your videos and reviews. Unfortunatelly in Australia the jet jt400 cost as much as a squire strat affinity.
Would you buy a jet over a squire strat???? Im a beginer and the marketing and options out there are so overwhelming and if you dont know you get shafted.

  • Thanks Andy, you helped me settle on a newer JS-400 SB (with satin rather than gloss neck and less loud logo).
Decked and blocked the trem as I've no use for it, properly installed a set of D'Addario strings and I'm over the moon. More than enough guitar for me as a lifelong mainly bassist getting serious about the higher pitches ????????

  • Looks like you place this all in your contract. These are very cheap guitars that are free to you.

  • Great video. Thank you. This video may be 3-years-old, but it's still grand and is really underlining Jet in my books.

Aside: It's not the "worst" of the range (well, it may be, I don't know), it's the least expensive of the range. There's not always a logical and pragmatic correlation between cost and quality. Sadly, the cost for some of the models has risen between when the video was published and today.

  • I love your enthusiasm and the innocent joy that you have when unpacking these Guitars. ????

  • Even though I have a pretty expensive guitar, (and if I did need another, would be paying a reasonable amount more than this), I am so much more interested in these bargain guitar videos than anyone reviewing the mid or top tier guitars. I get a kick out of thinking how much better the introductory experience of learners must be when the budget guitars of today are better than most mid-price guitars of my youth.

  • Hi Andy, the Js 500 and especially 600 are like Michael Kelly (1965, 1967, CC60 Burl Burst) strats with the epic eleven mod. Have you considred comparing JS with Michael Kelly, or doing some Michael Kelly reviews? Thx.

  • how was the fret work on these? i've noticed that in low end guitars, from most big name brands, the fret work is horrible, like they don't file down the edges so you're just ripping your fingers up

  • They look great and sound pretty good….but I hate C and modern C necks and basswood bodies. Seems like you get a lot of guitar for your money but IMO, there is no imagination when making these guitar necks. ALL the guitars I have seen that are made in China (and also bought) come with C or modern C necks and are just too thin for me!
Medium C or soft V please.
That includes you too Fender…and oh yeah, if you are going to use a soft v neck please stop using an unusable 7.5 radius. Yikes!
Just my 2 cents worth. Peace.

  • Andy, thanks for this honest review just seen it (ref the silenced post). On the back of this and your jet vs hb, I bit the bullet on a jet js400 and couldn't be more pleased. Thanks again for not cow-towing to the brands and being honest in your reviews. It's just what we players want to hear.????????
