The Blues Arpeggio! A Shortcut to some expensive sounding licks!????????
The Blues Arpeggio!???? A Shortcut to some expensive-sounding licks!????????
This works really well, even if it isn’t 100% what the theory books tell you.
There are both single note licks and some double-stop examples

My name is Jens Larsen, Danish Jazz Guitarist, and Educator. The videos on this channel will help you explore and enjoy Jazz. Some of it is how to play jazz guitar, but other videos are more on Music Theory like Jazz Chords or advice on how to practice and learn Jazz, on guitar or any other instrument.
The videos are mostly jazz guitar lessons, but also music theory, analysis of songs, and videos on jazz guitars.

Not 100% what you find in theory books, but still a great hack! (Wes used it!)
Here's another Wes Lick you might like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9uRbdl9Oj0&list=PLWYuNvZPqqcHYkquTyeFOr4UNiUcL15CO&index=2
This works for a bluesy I chord but doesn't really have dominant quality, right? It sounds that way to me.
Hey, way cool! Beautiful! Thank you stay well have a beautiful day.
What about try check out Alipbata's "Pagebluk" ☺️
Lars, this lesson format in pills is very useful. In hasty modern life we only have small windows of time for learning guitar. I successfully fill each window with one of your “pill” lessons. PLEASE DO MORE
After a busy day, nothing like relaxing and learning from another one of Mr. Larsen's wonderful video lessons. Thank you so much!
C'est pas du jazz ça ?
Very nice! Thank you!
Sounds more like Jazz than blues
Jens!
How does your head NOT explode?!?! Too much knowledge!!!! Love jazz! Always wished I could play it…with this small lesson u have made me sound like a jazz man! U really are INCREDIBLE! My God!
What gear are you playing in this?
I'm curious why we would call it A half diminished when a C6 is the same thing and we are playing over C7. I know there is a theory reason for this, but my limited knowledge has me stumped?
Not really Blues licks… Mainly JAZZ licks….a common misconception….
Amazing as always!
No pdf?
Dunno if i'd call this a 'hack'- I mean, its a legit lesson in using the lovely Minor6 arpeggio. But what this really is… is an idea that you actually hear used alot in early R&B ( Little Richard era ), crossover country and rockabilly music. Jerry Reed, Ed Bickert and Leny Breau played some interesting minor6 ideas over dominants. RIP all three.
Jazz?? That sounds like Chuck Berry to me! Awesome sound Jens, thanks for sharing, will def check that one out.
holy cow ! (great stuff) elegant simplicity
I’m visualizing that as substituting the 6th for the dominant 7th.
So basically you’re use the relative minor half diminished arpeggio of any given dominant chord?
Very cool video! Give him a ????????
Great one, Jens. Det verkar mycket mycket kul!
$$$ fancy stuff
Your burrowing the major 3rd. from the F7 and adding a minor 3rd. to the C7 ( C minor pentatonic). Not trying to be sarcastic, this was truly helpful insight. Thanks. I would describe other chord voicings for these two chords, but, I'm not getting paid for it. I hadn't thought about going to the G7 yet, and this seems to lay perfectly between F7 and C7. Any suggestions for a rich way to get to G7?
