  • To the people who does not like or find adequate his English to understand, let me write down quickly. (btw Cem is pronounced like Jem/Gem, not Sem)

Cem Köksal is a legendary Turkish guitarist and known as Turkish Malmsteen. Shark Guitar was his handmade guitar that allows him to store multiple tones, configs and switch among them quickly. He made his first guitar like 2000s I guess, and named it Shark. It was not a brand at first, just a handmade guitar only Cem had. Later on, he decided to develop his idea and thats where we meet Shark Guitars.

It is established a few years ago in Antalya, Türkiye. In an interview of the Shark Guitars project, he introduced one of the guitars, like in this video. He stated that the guitar allows musicians to flexibility to create wide range of combinations.

The pickups can be swapped with different ones. If you need a single coil, you just press the pickup from the back side of the guitar and detach it. Normally you need to cut the strings off, remove the pickup and connections, and re-do this process in backwards. Shark Guitars provides us to swap quickly.

Not only the pickups, but also the fretboard can be swapped quickly. Upper bridge helps us here. You attach the strings there, not the tuners. If you want to get more microtonal sounds, you can use your custom fretboard.

Also, the buttons on the guitar allows the player to switch different tones quickly. You dont need to use a processor, or a pedal board. You just need to press the button to stored mode/tone switch on the stage. And if you travel too much, you can take your guitar with minimum space occupied.

That's all I remembered from the interview I mentioned. It was 4 mins and Turkish. I hope you got the idea. For me, it is brilliant project and I would like to have one of these guitars, but it is kinda expensive. So I cannot afford it (for now)

  • Im seeing tunig issues in your future sir. I lke my guitars to stay assembled. Thats just me though. And anything "onboard" in the realm of "The moog" from Gibson, and the other initial attempts have always been,…..um,…..less than successful. But hey,…….maybe he found the key, too,………..THAT
