  • ???????????????????? “solos”…… he’s there most overrated non-musician, that for some reason called a guitarist.
That’s pointless noodeling, any kid that played for a year could play.

  • While that "The Fly" is not the best Edge's solo, damn that it is good to listen… Edge's magic !

  • I like the one in 'The Fly' the most. You can see that the others are really impressed there. Look at Larry's face!

  • Zrozumiałem że nie trzeba grać szybko i super techniczne ,ale należy z głową i sercem…

  • Enough praise. He's not really a great player. Bill Bailey was right. Get over it. Stylisticly, some of it sounds good and suits the songs well, but there is nothing really inspiring about his playing. It's all effects. U2 is the most overrated band ever. They made a few very good albums. The rest of it is just blah.

  • Not a lot of actual guitar solos but it doesn't take away from what Edge does well.

  • Meh. Other than New Years Day. Solos aren’t his bag. He is still a great creator of soundscapes and he changed guitar with his approach to the delay pedal. Still a legend.

  • There are so many great guitarists in our time. But nothing will match The Edge in how his guitar solos impacted me. I grew up listening to his guitar solos as a way for my late Dad to get me to sleep. My Dad would play the guitar solo of I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For and With or Without You before I go to sleep. Like a lullaby.

At 28, I still listen to them as a means to keep me calm, to get me to sleep, and to relax while driving.

The Edge's guitar solos catches your soul, it really does.

  • I'm a bit too young to have experienced the hype around this band in their prime. But for music everybody I know seems to hate, this is not half bad. But then I checked out a full live performance and now I get why they're the most disliked band on the planet.

  • I totally fell in love with the solo in New Year’s Day in 1984 at the Entertainment Center in Perth, WA. I still think that’s a real masterpiece, possibly their best song in the 80’s and their absolute best with Miss Sarajevo.

  • Edge doesn't record that many solos. I think he considers them to be a bit wankery

  • ❤ the thing is. Its not the edges solos that define his playing. Its his rythm and inventiveness. The great thing about guitar music is that we don't have to compare to see who is the greatest as if it was an Olympic sport. I play guitar and love listening to all the greatest the fastest the melodic and the song backers. But the amount of songs i can listen to and enjoy repeatedly then the edge is top of the league.

If you wear that velvet dress. Creo que solo Edge es capaz de conseguir algo así.

  • It's actually frustrating how all the comments are JUST about his technique. That will always be the defining point of his playing to guitarists, which is sad. The guy is a creative force, that's all that matters.

  • I always say – I can listen to Eddie Van Halen for 30 days and feel nothing, I can listen to the Edge for 30 seconds and feel everything.

  • All 4 are not great musos individually. Together a spiritual connection like no other. Sensational riffs that are simple yet amazing ????
