The FIRST SPARK AMP Alternative!

The FIRST SPARK Amp Alternative?

This is the Mooer SD30i intelligent amp, a viable alternative to the spark amp and has a 5 hour rechargeable battery!

Plenty of features on this amp with 2 x 4″ speakers giving a nice low end and an amp like sound, with 52 amp models, 25 cabs, 126 different effects, bluetooth footswitch option, bluetooth in for backing tracks, 9 switchable effects straight from the amp and a smartphone app with tone cloud and many different options including 40 drum patterns, a looper and tuner, the looper and drums can also be synced.

As an Amazon affiliate i earn a small commision should you purchase the product without it costing you any extra:

  • Love your review on this. I have been thinking to buy one for myself.
One question though as you describe the specs, you've mention that there were 25 Cab Sims. The App as shown does not have a Cab Sim or IR section. Can you clarify this? Does the Amp still sounds good without Cab Sims?

  • I hate spark….I have the 40, took back the cabinet….. both are noisey, can't use chorus and EQ at the same time, the cabinet has one stupid channel with xlr and guitar input…stupid!! Can't use them both. I'd have been fine with cabinet if they charge 50.00 more and added another channel with mic effects. That damn bass!

  • Spark has the ecosystem built and its more friendly IMO. Got one for $230 and it seems like a solid piece for the price. They really need to add a looper and battery. Then it would be perfect. Also better speakers. Im sure thats all coming in the next version

  • The Spark would be the perfect practice amp if it had a looping feature/pedal & a separate channel for vocal mic input. ????????

  • This looks like a shameless rip off of the Positive Grid Spark. I mean the cabinet looks like it was made from the same factory in China. Western company (Positive Grid) investing all the RD only for it to be stolen by a Chinese company (Moore). Intellectual Property Theft for sure. How sad.

  • Ehh I do not know about the first alternative, I have a Blackstar 2 and I love it! Great volume, Tonal and modeling options! I think it dates before the MOOR

  • Sorry, the clean sounds were great, but the overdrive sounded awful. Spark needs to make an amp modeling pedal like line 6, Mooer, Valeton, and Zoom has.

  • I have a Spark 40 and its maybe the best money ive ever spent on gear. However, if it had been any more expensive than it was, i wouldn't have been able to get it in the first place. The price point of the Spark is maybe its most under rated feature. These little amps aren't replacements for gigging amps. They're for students and hobbyists and the prices should reflect that. Mooer makes very good quality stuff, i know, but these kinds of amps, regardless of who makes them, should remain under the 250 dollar mark in my opinion.

  • Very interesting I amp! I would love to see a comparison between this amp, the Spark, and the new NUX Mighty Space amp.

Thanks so much for making this video!

  • Doesn’t seem too bad, I like the battery and bluetooth.
So, my pick would be the spark with those ????. I know the spark has a bluetooth pedal, but it connects to the app, not the actual amp which I don’t like as much as I would if it just connected to the amp.

  • Sounds good, but so does the Spark.

The SD30i right now on Amazon is $315 while the Spark with a rtack record and massive community is going for $269

I think they needed to come in under $200 if your going to make a clone of an existing product. The battery is really what the Spark is missing though so if you need that, then the SD30i could be your amp.
