  • Once the guitar is made well with great wood, It's a matter of taste, not better or worse. Smaller body = more mid and high range detail. Larger body, more bass and resonance. Now add in different wood combinations, and you have a pallet of tone to choose from. Just a matter of what you want.

  • I have the AD60 dreadnought but this GA really interests me if I ever get an all solid guitar. My goal is to eventually also sing whilst playing and GA might be better for that? I'm learning to sing as an adult so I don't have a powerful voice or anything. I love that is has no cutaway too

  • Nice to see a none cut away ga/ Dreadnought. Most guitar manufacturers seem to make all their acoustics a cut away, so it makes it difficult for folks to have a choice to buy a none cut away ,

  • My Alvarez AGE95 is more comfortable to play than my MDR70. I guess that's why Taylor invented the shape. Tonally both sound great. My favourite guitar however due to its light weight , shorter scale length and clarity of tone is my Taylor AD12e , but that's in a totally different price bracket.

  • I love the sound of the Dreadnought. The GA looks and sounds good as well.

  • Can’t find these guitars anywhere in my area. My brother as a AY 12 string that he’s had for about 35 years. It’s still great!

  • The GA shape is more inviting, the Dread shape is more intimidating. In a music store, I am drawn to the not-so-big instruments.

  • Something in the way they sound, I like them more than others. Something in the way that moves me. I just want to have them now da da da da da daa. sorry for the pun. Love Alvarez videos.

  • Thanks for the comparison. I own one of each, a Yairi dread and a Taylor GA. They shine in different areas. What was great to me in this video is how well they go together for rhythm and lead. That’s the ticket.

  • The grand auditorium combines the bass of a large dreadnought and the comfort and greater note articulation of the compact size Folk/OM

  • I believe I've mentioned this previously on your site, but I must say it again, and I only say this to be helpful.
When you're demonstrating more than one guitar, it's important to play them one at a time, at least at some point in the demonstration so the viewers can detect exactly what each guitar sounds like.

  • That GA looks identical is shape and size to my MF60OM. I’m sure it isn’t though…Does it have full scale?

  • I like the videos, but you should have spent more time actually playing the guitars in an A/B test with different types of music, and moving up and down the neck. Strumming the way you did doesn't really make the nuances show up, especially for these guitars which are pretty close in shape. Im guessing that you'll hear a lot more of a difference moving up the neck, when playing flat picking, and playing fingerstyle. The GA probably has more articulation and volume as you move up the next and play individual strings.

  • For a big sound, I love the dread. For versatility, I really like my OM. It would be interesting to see a comparison between the GA and OM.

  • I like the dreadnought more. I like to go to the comparison website that you guys have and listen to yairi vs masterworks. Wonderful tool!
