  • Wow. Those are some nice sounding chords! This is one of their truly magical, timeless songs. Earl Slick, who played on the final album also said in interviews that John was an amazing guitar player.

  • Great showing of the way John Lennon actually made the songs of The Beatles sound so great. I never realised this until now with your demos. I have been a past drummer playing a lot of the songs from The Beatles but now as a guitarist in a Band I am excited at what you are showing here. Maybe you could make guitar intros and Solos and Outros along the lines of this lesson. All Good and thanks from Downunder.

  • John made it look so easy. That’s how you know someone is great at what they do. To take something difficult and make it look like child’s play.

  • Learning some of John’s rhythm parts has been a challenge for me I have to admit.
I think he was drive the groove if you like behind the Beatles I think Paul and george were the finesse

  • So nice seeing some real love and attention paid to John’s undeniable talent as guitarist and songwriter. Lately I’m seeing a bit too much slagging of John and bloated praise for Paul, from evidently younger fans. Not sure why.

  • John was surprisingly fluent with his pinky at that early stage. Check it out when John plays yer blues with the Dirty Mac much later. Or on the rooftop or..I could go on and on.
Natural born guitar player is what.

  • The simplest doesn't necessarily make it easier ????
I am not a guitarist….I appreciate the ones that make it look so easy ❤…and God bless John

  • John had a really distinctive right hand technique. His arm was often very stationery, almost like it was resting against the guitar and all the movement was in his wrist. Very tight and percussive, and he did while signing, often a harmony part. An incredible feet of musicianship. Thanks for the great video Mike.

  • John Lennon was a master wordsmith and melody smith. He made it seem effortless. No word was forced. They all fit together perfectly in the simplest way. Sort of like a Gary Larson cartoon. One drawing, a few carefully chosen words and you get perfection.
