  • Thanks Jonny, a great review. I had an Ashbury Ukulele bass for a few years, which I loved, that had metal strings. Eventually the strings pulled through the bridge so the bass was firewood. The Fender has metal wound nylon core strings which reduced the tension and avoid damaging the bridge. I love this bass. It’s a really robust bit of kit, well made and sounds great. I’ve used mine with a jazz trio and it amazed everyone.

  • Judging people that play guitar at music festivals is low. Playing music should be praised and appreciated. I guarantee you look like more of a pratt filming a YouTube video doing a bass uke review at a festival.

  • I had played one briefly and unplugged at a local guitar shop, but DAMN! The tones you got (especially with the Tone control dipped down) for pick playing, slap, and all of the effects, this lil P-Bass sounds GREAT!
And this is MUCH smaller than my double bass! I'd either play my double bass, or a little Ukulele Bass, and just absolutely skip acoustic bass guitars. ????‍♂

  • I love mine! Really hard to find a gig bag or case for it though. I went with a gig bag made for tiny classical guitars and it's oversized

  • How is the intonation on these fenders? I had a Kala U bass and the intonation was terrible with no way to adjust it

  • Bass ukeleles are really changing the game, having the Fender name on what used to be a gimmick is a big deal.

  • I've have one of these and they're great for when you want to play music in bed ! ???? I'm looking for a small battery bass amp to go with it. Any recommendations would be appreciated . Thanks . ????

  • I got my first acoustic Kala U-Bass in June 2010. I picked it up at the courier depot and drove to play at a bandstand. I had 15 minutes to get the feel of it and then we started. I played it at countless venues in jazz bands and big bands and everyone loved the sound. At one rehearsal I brought one of my regular electric basses and the drummer was upset because he loved the big deep sound. I'm using Aquila Thunderbrown strings. They are non metallic and the sound great. They are not sticky or floppy like the other non metallic strings.

  • I was considering buying this TODAY and you just sealed the deal for me. I want it specifically for being able to play around the house but not at my work space. And I could use it for work too. Win win.

  • Not for me but definitely looks more fun to have around than I expected it to. Nice demo!
