This is great! However, Bruce is NOT a bar chord guy so he probably used a capo or alternate tuning and Nils Lofgren most likely did the part you are teaching which is awesome by the way! This was likely done when it was performed live!

My first electric was a Telecaster, and I really forgot how good they were for 20 years, the tele is my first choice of guitar for the last decade.
I just bought one from a neighbor friend for a great deal. I love it, always wanted one. Now I need to learn how to play it. I guess I’ll be watching you a lot more Sean. ????

The Vintgae II series is very strong. I have the '63 tele in crimson with mahogany body, and think it's a real step up from most current production line teles

The Tele is great. That sound just doesn't do it for me. I have four Tele guitars and no Strats. I just can't get into the Strat.
Your pattern would be much easier to play if you don't use the thumb to play the next string under. Just use the thumb, 1, 2, 3. And shift to lower strings as needed. You're making it harder than it is.
Last year I got my first black guard tele and never was a tele guy before…now I'm hooked on it and barely play my strat anymore.

$100 guitar would probably sound better than this junk. Unless you do serious modifications . I think people like them to feel alternative and cool rather than playability. I had ones a MIJ fender strat from the late 80s and it was total junk. Instead I bought a charvel with JB in the bridge and the difference was night and day.
I think of Prince before Springsteen when thinking "telecaster". Plus Prince was a better player and songwriter.

My severe case of GAS started with a blonde 1967 Telecaster. The rest is history.
