  • Thank you sir Bailey for your video I own the same amp boarded about 3 years ago and it's the 7080 speaker and mine I keep saying I'm going to replace it but I think I'm just going to buy the Harley Benton vertical greenback and the 2x 12 with use it as a head I don't think so it'll be fine for me to do it like that lol anyway from what I've gathered on the Internet it's more of a Laney club 12r cologne in yeah pretty much a lady club 12:00 so maybe that's why you don't like it and we go out to a sounding like a ac15 but who knows I don't I'm blind so please excuse typos misspelled words lack of punctuation I'm not a bad typer I'm not even a litter it all the lots of people like to tell me I am I'm using speech to text it has its own unique take on the English language now that is out of the way the only thing I don't like about the front I can't tell from the mirror finish or anything like that cuz my eyes don't see that but when I go to adjust the lamp I use my fingerswhere I touch it I have to know whether you know I'm all the way to the left to the right and memorize where every single button is and on my amp you just touch any of those knobs and they just go all over the place I've also noticed that as you as I increase the any of the EQ or even a reverb the amp seems to get louder and I think it has to do with its design what is exactly is I don't know I don't know if anyone else has experienced that but that's what I hear I can't say that where this amp has been kept over the last 2 years is basically a room full of dust and drywall and the thing still works without any problems and I don't even cover it it's too late for covering at this point but 3 years and it's still going strong I have to stick to amps that are pretty basic because I can't see and I have to memorize everything I have an original katana bus katana 100 version 1 and I had memorized I still have most of it if I don't use it that often and then I have to play with it to remember what is what but I remembered memorized every single button what it does if you know what boss gets on a try doing that lineI suppose when it comes to modelers and stuff like that if they came out with a touch screen and accessibility setting with screen readers I might take a tinkle at that but otherwise it's out of my out of my physical capacity to use I paid $250 for it 3 years ago give or take and yeah I think it was a great buy it's funny as I'm dictating to my phone in a speech to text mode I keep looking over at The amp and I don't know why I do that I guess it's because most of my life or good part of it I was cited and it's just a habit anyway I'm going to stop here sincerely David Raphael AKA Bob the blind bedroom guitarist my speech to text is really doing great today believe it or not just a second ago a minute ago the speech to text or voice typing or whatever you want to call it just gave me an alert that there are some misspelled words you wrap your head around that won the speech to text is telling me that I misspelled words all right this is the world we live in the again sincerely David Raphael AKA Bob the blind bedrooms

  • I purchased this model amp. I like it. Bargain price. Spring tank held 2springs. Changed that out to a 3 spring tank. Stock speaker is a Celestion 70/80. Replaced that speaker with a Celestion Vintage 30. I personally like the upgrades. Have Mesa Boogie tubes coming to replace all the tubes. Paid $280 for the amp. $300 total upgrades. Upgrades are just something I wanted to do. Amp is very usable as it comes stock. Enjoyed your video.

  • Just add an graphic eq pedal in front or in the effects send and you've got most any tone you like- no need to swap out the speaker. I did swap the 3 12AX7's for 3 lower gain 5750s, much happier with a tamed overdrive. http://www.youtube.com/neilslade

  • Two things improved this amp for me. 1. i replaced the speaker using a Jensen Jet Falcon. Big improvement. 2. Even bigger improvement was replacing the output transformer with a $45 ebay 25 watt multi-tap one. Now i can use extension speakers in parallel. Improved bottom end significantly. Total price was $345. Sold my Blues Jr and kept this.

  • I disagree with the idea that this amp is an attempt to compete with the Vox AC15. I don’t think it sounds like one. I hear and see this amp as a direct competitor to the Peavey Classic 20/30 and Fender Blues Jr.

  • Wow, that's a decibel meter? This whole time I thought it was a stock market digital ticker tape. ????

  • I love this amp for harmonica! I swapped out the AX7 preamp tubes for AY7s to tame the heat from my Bulletini mic, upgraded the reverb and I love this beast – I can get sweet cleans all the way to Chicago grit with only my Xotic EP boost up front and a Dunlop Echoplex in the FX loop. It does take some tweaking to find the sweet spot(s), and I may go back to the AX7 tubes now that I have more experience with it. I think it sounds great cranked in a mid-sized room…

  • I keep thinking about grabbing one of these but i already have a Vox AC4C1-12. Which do you think is better, Landon?

Would love to see ya do some Caddyshack scene impressions!

  • I picked an earlier version of this amp at Goodwill for $60 in Portland. I have two inputs, and the knobs are on top. The volume does drop every now and then so I guess the pots need cleaning or maybe the tubes are going out?

  • So I'm a little confused with the power supply situation with this amp. How do I get power to this thing without blowing s*** up

  • Got same amp the original tubes were not the best I ordered a set of jj’s big difference

  • You do a great job on the videos but just like everyone else you're leaving noise suppression on the symbols in your music and it sounds like s***

  • Here’s genuine question when most review amps why do they always mic the up. Why don’t they just go into the amp and let it be what it is instead of mixing up

  • I bought the SR15 directly from Monoprice during a Black Friday sale for $200. At that price, it's hard to complain about anything. It's a good practice amp. I do not like the stock Celestion speaker and will eventually swap in an Eminence that has more clarity. Enjoy!

  • I have the Harley Benton branded version. Seen a lot of videos about speaker / tube changes. IMO no need. Put an EQ in front and transforms it ( mine is Boss GE7 ) ????

  • would be great to have demos where they strum rhythm chords instead of hours of noodling, noodling is imprtant but playing live involves a lot of strumming clean and chugging power chords too

  • I got one used with a V30 installed last year… 200€ shipped. That thing can get LOUD, as you saw, but I mostly play it at 1W with some overdrive pedals, modulation and delay at home and it's just perfect for me. I would never trade this for a Katana or other modeller.

  • I have owned this amp for several years and have played gigs with it. Its been re-tubed with JJ's except for 1 Tung-Sol in the V1 spot( a crazy rabbit hole you can get caught up in) and it has a Eminence Swamp Thang. The original 70/80 with a Vintage 30 was put in a 2×12 cab that sounds good together.

  • I've got one of these and I like it a lot except for the buzz and hum I get all the time. I found a cold solder joint near the bias pot which helped but it is still way too noisy to use and be happy.

  • I too believe its a Laney Cub 15 clone. I love mine. I used a JHS black box in the effects loop to attenuate it. So i can heat up the tubes and play at bedroom levels.

  • That tone you got at the beginning reminded me of The Who's Summertime Blues.
