  • Hmm… for 1970 period I would have added "Hard Lovin; Man" riff by the guitar maestro, Mr. Ritchie Blackmore. In the absence of that I will go for Black Night.

  • Without overthinking it just going to go with Paranoid. So simple yet so heavy.

    Machine Gun next for sure.

  • Oh Man what a great video! 🙂 It looks like you are using an Amp Sim. Can I ask you which software you are using to playing these riffs?

  • Mississippi Queen for sure. That Black Strat with the hot rails is looking sharp! (Sounds great too!) Cheers!!

  • Mississippi Queen gets my vote, though the others are also fabulous riffs ????????????????????????☮☮☮

  • I have to go with Layla. What a great riff. Btw, how is it that you don’t have more subscribers? Keep at it bro, your videos are outstanding.

  • How do you pick between such great riffs? They're not just great, but important too, ya know? I'm kinda sick to death of playing Paranoid, but that riff is a big deal. Fortunate Son? You can't have a Vietnam movie without it. Immigrant Song is bad ass. Do you go for the song that helped shape music or the one that's just the most fun to play? Ok, ok, ok… I'm gonna flip a coin… LAYLA.

  • I didn’t know all of these. So to make an informed vote, I decided to learn those and brush up on the ones I already knew. Machine Gun gets my vote. It’s a riff that plays like a solo, but it’s still a riff.

  • No Iron Man makes me sad, so I'll go with Machine Gun. Hendrix always seems years ahead of his contemporaries.

  • Layla but liked Paranoid too…I’ll go with the one I am most familiar with…Love,Linda aka your mother xo

  • Well it's really difficult to choose one song. They are all great. It really was not at easy decision In the end I go for All right now because it's fun to play. it's simple and the riff is the song and it sticks in your head once you heard it.

  • Great idea for a video series. I have to vote for Layla, though I was really tempted by Paranoid and some other songs on this list.

  • Great list! I know you tried to limit to 10, but it's hard to ignore Roadhouse Blues by The Doors and Gypsy by Uriah Heap. But what to leave out…

    Great playing as always.
