Description: Today we are going to find out if the new 2020 Epiphone Firebird Electric Guitars have Neck Through construction like Gibson Firebirds or if these new epis are just hiding under an eloborate and fancy veneer! At the time of launch, many dealers advertised these as set necks! If I’m remembering correctly, even the Epiphone website at one point had it wrong. I had to find out for myself to be 100% sure. Set Neck VS Neck Through… That is a big difference when it comes to a firebird!

Now we know for sure! It is funny how specs get misconstrued online. This was a pretty good guitar. The pickups weren't too bad – but they could use a little more clarity and punch. Definitely a solid guitar if you've been looking for an inexpensive 'bird!

I don't understand why people hate on firebirds. They are great guitars. This video was Really Well Done.
Just licked one of these up today. Played about 10 or so guitars in guitar center. It was between this one and an ibanez iceman around the same price, i liked the neck on the epiphone and it has a natural spank to it.

would be way more appealing of it had the weird headstock with the banjo tuners, imo.
I recommend everyone to really try it before deciding, especially standing up and with the shoulder strap. at that point 90% of enthusiasts will change their mind…
I'd rather quit Music than play epiphone. U can call it epiphone but it's just a cheap gibson to me. They have no original products whatsoever, they just ride gibson ducc. Meh… makes good firewood. Get this shit off me wall.
The epi headstock is exactly the same as the Gibson that was produced from 2018 to when they were discontinued. Mini grovers not steinberger tuners.
It's just begging for some Steve Jones riffs.
It ain't even about the look. They have a unique sound.
I don't mind quick connect .I upgraded all my electronics in my epi custom. I tried both quick and direct solder. There was no difference. I do like the fact that you can just unclip them. From what i understand, those are real fb pickups, so i doubt I'll be touching those. Can't wait til it gets here. I've been waiting 2 years to get this guitar. It was constantly out of stock. Easter is making it so i won't get til weds.
I bought some fender electric guitar strings from China one time and none of them would work with any pickups
I notice this review mentions "mini-humbuckers" …. I just looked this up on Sweetwater, and they say they are regular humbuckers (in 2024) …. did they change this? I would prefer the minis. Anyone know?
I had a firebird 7 Epiphone Goldtop from 1999 I think from Korea and liked it for $599 – It was not neck through – Ebay put $1000 less fees Alnico pick-ups -did not want to sell it but Ebay put money in my account so I shipped it

I would be willing to pay750-800 for the banjo style tuners and a different finish on the Epiphone.
The gold bonnamasa epiphone is the best looking firebird, for me ,
Firebird pickups are 'not' mini humbuckers !!!
All of these Epiphones are fantastic! I am partial to the shapes, loads of character, and they sound great
