The Ultimate Budget Metal Amp Shootout 2021
We took a bunch of affordable entry level guitar amps and took them through a comparison to find out which ones would “metal”. Using our ultimate metal scale from Nickelback (zero) to Slayer (100) the amps are rated for tone, beef and useable gain. Do you agree with the judges? Post your favourite in the comments.

hey man this is some cool shit, is it okay if i use the riffs in this video for a metal track im making? would you like me do credit you?
Love Fender and Vox
Anyone know what guitar he’s using?
These are all pretty shit for metal honestly. Peavey Vypyr X series blows them out of the water.
Chimaira brings the heavy
why didn't you give peavey vypyr x1 a chance?
Those Fenders sounded awful.
Blackstar, Boss, and the 1st Marshall for my fave of these.
Boss Katana is good for rock and metal with standard tune. Not good for droptuned death metal.
The fender amps were garbage.
What amp was the “in between” segments that sounded better than all of them ????
My daughter has the LT25 and I made some patches that actually sound really good. I think it would have been better with an open back.
2:23 sounds hella good and the vox has some nasaly badass sound man!
My Lt25 broke the first 5 days of use playing metal -.-
is fender mustang lt25 good for modern metal?
orange just fucking sucks – i cant think of anything worse
That's a chimaira riff
using any pedals or anything on that last Orange in the video!?!? Just bought a Crush 12 it's on the way, wondering if I'll need anything to get Slayer out of it…
I hate my katana air
Boss katana killer ????
???? Me a encantado el Rollito de video ????????????????
Yesterday i tried the Mustang LT25 for first time, and sounds very good to play Metal (my guitar has active pickups).
I highly recommend it.
I own the mustang lt25 and run a behringer distortion pedal. A close of the boss one. It's ok. I want a katana. I got a couple jacksons with emgs in them. Love my jackson's
The stock high gain options of the Katana are pretty bad…I hated it when I tried it in the store. But once you use the Tone Studio, you can get some truly brutal tones from it. Everything from heavy chugs to tight modern metal(that isn't thin and brittle at all like in this demo). Plus, the speakers sound like crap until you break them in.
what amp at 4:33?
Please consider reviewing the Peavey X series
Even with tweaked settings like a mother fucker that boss katana isnt the best metal. If you hear the high gain in person it really sucks. It does sound 100 X better in stereo though. With a single speaker it sounds like a cheap solid state with a pedal.
What type of Jackson is that?
That BOSS sounded boss!
