  • The tonex stuff is great. The only problem I see is running direct to house with cab sim on and running to your cab on stage with the cab sim off simultaneously. If only using in-ears I guess there's no problem there though.

  • are you running a mono to stereo 1/4 in on the output to your mixer? im new to this & im trying to figure out how to run it in stereo – is it as simple as the cable or would i need a second pedal?

  • Is anybody else listening to this with their headphones on? All i can hear is the digital processing absolutely killing the natural tone of the bass. Obviously everyone has their own preferences to what sounds good, but this sounds dreadful. Tons of processing & latency. I hope they improve on these issues because i love the idea of the pedal.

  • What was the preset used in the intro of the vid? It had the perfect amount of light saturation that i like in my tone

  • Thank you so much for this great review! I am thinking about buying this. I am wondering if I could blend a dry tone through tonex software. Is it possible?

  • Why does every music gear reviewer needs to start with an uninspiring showcase of their playing skills. Just focus on the gear review. We all know how a bass sound.

  • IK needs to update the sofrware within the pedal, so the main knob can act as a scroller for the 20 models you can host within the pedal. Since each is definable by a light hue, this should be, in theory, no issue for them to I implement. I say – touch stomp+ALT until 3-coolo flash – then ALT press. From there, scroll with the main knob through your color hue presets. Bingo.

  • Cancelled my order of the tonex 1. Reason I can get so much more with the tonex box for 119.00 more and not have to fiddle with a connected computer. I don’t need anything else. 299 from Thomann. Special edition.

  • How exactly would a bass player use this live? If I want to run this to FOH direct it looks like I need a DI box? Then if I'm also running an amp as well as a DI, it doesn't seem like there's any way to have a dual signal to the amp without an IR or split the signal in general. Looks like a great unit, but I don't see it being practical for live use. No Youtube videos seem to address this either.

  • Like two weeks ago I was thinking about finally getting a bass amp plugin, was looking at something for 79 and 150 USD. I'm no longer looking into those plugins 😀

  • I am glad to see that it did not take long for a video demo for this product showing it's bass balls. Thanks – subbed.
The only thing i have to say about the ToneX stuff is, I wish it was connectable to mobile (iOS/Android) instead of only a desk/laptop. It would make this at least 10x more enticing. Bluetooth inclusion maybe? That would be a nice touch, IK!

  • I was just thinking about this. This is massive for bass players or guitars players that occasionally play bass

  • What none of these reviews are mentioning is the fact that the software is almost the same price as the pedal making it essentially double the "awesome low price" if you actually want to use it's capabilities.

  • Jivey, in theory would I be able to capture various different preamps and then run out of this into a bass power amp?

    Nice bass playing and collection!

The headphone output is a brilliant idea.

  • So i can basically save some settings on my tonex without having to connect it to a pc right

  • Nicely done! Great that it takes bass well too. Obviously, if the captures are good, it will sound good, so it's better than modelling in that respect.
