  • Great review. Interested to know… Would you go for the V4 or the Ashdown Roasted Saint P-Bass if you had to pick only one?

  • It sounds absolutely round and clear. I feel it lacks a little bit of a high end thump but you can solve it on the amp. It is amazing for the price.

  • I held a vintage pbass in a local shop and the fret ends were terrible .. worse than any of my two Harley bentons, except it was 3 times the cost..

  • I keep looking at these and being super tempted. My main bass is a US Jazz, but I fancy a P bass as a secondary, however can’t justify/afford fender prices and really don’t fancy a Squier.. I think I’ll either be really impressed or really disappointed by Vintage

  • Personally, I don't think they went far enough. They should've added a vintage "hootnanny" strap button behind the headstock like the early Fender basses of its era.

  • Unfortunately, the processing looks the same on almost every instrument. The large "lacquer damage" in particular always has the same shape and position. It is too industrial and uniform.

  • The amp sim sounds really flat/ compressed. I thought it was my laptop speakers at first but it was the same on the studio headphones. They voice recording is very nice though.

  • The bass sounds good. I'm not a fan of the cosmetic appearance. the distressed look is not my thing. and the machine heads are over the top. but apart from that good sound. wouldn't choose the icon series myself. Wilkinson hardware is ok. I modified a bass myself with Wilkinson pickups. thanks for the review

  • I have a VJ74 and its a fantastic bass. I upgraded the pickups to an EMG ACTIVE J because i needed that active power to plough through my band's mix. Overall in love with the way these basses are made.

  • Really like the sound. Generally like everything I've seen and heard from Vintage. However I'm one of those who doesn't get fake-worn.

  • I’d like to see the vintage stingray !! Great review Dibble!! I like the matte look too and a great classic tone!! I’m not a P guy but I’d buy this just to have the overdrive sounded great

  • The intro bit sounds very good!
Can you share the signal chain? Is it the obsidian 7000 into a cab sim?

  • I have to say i love their basses. I got myself the P and the J from vintage. They are so light and the tones are soo good ????

  • Lots to like there! Sounds great and I dig the headstock, but even as someone who likes relics, that one ain't it.

  • I appreciate the work with the hardware and I do like relic-style instruments, but the distressed paint job Vintage does is just bad, lol. Great instrument, bad relic.
