Such an underrated gem! ????

Personally, I think that for most music, all you need is either a P bass with some growl, or a jazz bass with only the neck pickup on and the tone knob rolled all the way off
To much butter
Name of song please?
Well it’s not a P bass so.
I'm a guitarist. My favorite bass sound is Flea on suck my kiss. I know there are probably better but
BB1100s — my favorite, my main
Jonathan Maron is one of the most undiscovered great bass players of the last 30 years. If you are not familiar with him, check him out. He may change your view on bass.
Well, it isnt a p-bass. Why would it sound like one?
What?? Listen again to McCartney on ‘With a Little Help From My Friends’ on Sgt. Pepper!
The BB might be underrated (and it certainly isn't by those who own one) but:
The Pbass is definitely overrated.
It can do certain sounds exceptionally well, but any Squier P will get you there. Doesn't need a 5 or 6 figure pricetag.
I have a P that I built from a kit, and it definitely does what it should.
Everything else I'm using another, more versatile, bass – like for instance my Aria Pro-II TSB350.
Which incidentally does a decent P impression as well.
The trick is to never change the strings.
YES!!!! I’ve always coveted the BB3000. Back in the day I always thought it was active, but it isn’t!
I found this sound by mistake, just got my 1st bass and fx's and stumbled across this tone trying to set .y fx's..I'm a guitarist 20yrs +(12 guitars) I know tones????
Because YAMAHA ! ????????????
If you like BB5000, you should check out the norwegian band D’Sound and their bassist Jonny Sjo.
Listen to «Ain’t Giving Up» or «Magnet».
The bass sound and playing are really good!
Y’all are sleepin’ on Eric Wilson of Sublime. Heaviest groove and tone ever.
Jonathan Maron is SO slept on. He’s like the Tim Lefebvre of Tim Lefebvres
A PJ is always a take it to the grave bass
That particular bass sound actually send shivers up my spine and raises the hair on my arms. Something inside me just reacts to it like????????????????????????????????♂️????
Edit; Listen through headphones ????????
What’s a p bass?
I have that bass. But I sure don’t have that tone. ???? That was killer.
Fuck yeah @yamaha
What bass is that?
I like the first bass line he played
It’s a shame most of the newer looking models look like second rate Ibanez guitars
I love Yamaha basses, I have 2, an 8 String fretless custom and a BBN5A.
Shane from Napalm Death beat bass tone hands down no cap.
Depends on personal taste and style!
What is a P bass?
Fugazi: Waiting Room, one of the best bass tones.
I like that. Cuts out some of that muddy low mid, which makes it sound more articulate and even deeper.
yamaha basses are so good I have 2001 rbx 270 Taiwanese I play through 100w dlarios head and 79 celestion blueback 100w 15inch guitar speaker oh my god it's great
"This is bass is" is criminal
Please analize groove collective bass solo… jonathan is the best
That Maxwell Ascension sound! ????????????
Yamahas have been respected since the 80s
Most Yamaha instruments are criminally underrated. If you don’t care about status or brand loyalty as much as a good quality instrument, you will be happy.
You can EASILY get that tone from a Wal bass.
Id like to see a spot on Too Shy by Kajagoo
Flat wounds but the sound is really in the fingers
P/J is my favorite configuration on bass.
I think the Wal Mk1 has my favorite tone. Just perfect! They also cost, like, $10,000 or so.
I love Yamaha! Don’t spread the word the prices will jump????????????
Tetsuo Sakurai on Yamaha!
Yamaha makes awesome stuff
I agree. I used to have a Yamaha BB 300. Gigged with it for years. Simple set up, volume and tone nobs. Versatile enough for many styles of music and all for £100 secondhand. Bargain ????????
Yamaha should start making neck through BB basses again.
I agree they have a great tone. But guys, why are you 90% of the time sitting with you P’s?
You'd have to pay me a ton of money to play that bass. You couldn't pay me enough to play only that bass. Yuck.
