He played look a pye pye by the Meters 1969
It's Rhett's iconic riff!
Lay down Sally!
phillip sayce through and through
I find myself in 2 through 5 and hardly one.
How about a les paul with 3 humbucker pickups with a coil split on each…. Is that a thing? If not, than time to make it happen????????
started using my middle pickup exclusively because you pointed it out on another video
Sshh !! I learned that from clapton …I was intrigued he only stayed in middle position on the strat live !!
I never saw you playing a 1968 cream maple fingerboard !
doesn’t clapton use the middle mostly?
Tomo Fujita did a video on the exact same thing. He made a strat that only had a middle pickup.
Trower and hendrix liked it
Clapton does too !
I use the middle to get a “doinky” faux jazzmaster/jaguar-ish sound. It sounds great playing single note lines on the low strings with Tremolo.
My favorite sound too
Rory Gallagher….Nuffield said
Albert Hammond jr from the strokes only uses this position I think
Middle pick-up for me sound kind like a tele, and I like it a lot
I've been feeling the same way about that one for years.
I have used a strat for years with fender custom shop 57-62 pickups in and I love the middle position, use it loads
Middle pick up slays with a wah.
Yes, man, but forget this farty fuzz for that.
Groundbreaking…
people use the middle and bridge even less. stevie ray used it quite a bit.
I've been using the middle pickup on my Strats for years. Very versatile – it's the "secret sauce" of the guitar.
It's got a govt mule sound but with a strat. I dig it
The middle position, through a Klon/Klone with the gain dimed and the tone (OD) rolled back between 9:00–10:00 gives this barking midrange sound. It's f'cking great.
And you can dial in the middle pickup to lean either neck or bridge tonally by either raising or lowering the treble side height screw by a half turn or so.
* I just cannot get into those Pau Ferro fretboards. They look like rosewood that had been in dire need of conditioning, but instead was left out in the New Mexico desert for six months.
What was the whole rig setup you ran to get the first low fuzz? Thanks.
The middle pup is my main position on a Strat.
