  • I really enjoy your playing. I had the 68 Deluxe Reverb Custom and it just didn't work out. It was noisy. I've heard the Pro has some of the same issues but it's hard to find a really straight forward review that highlights the performance of the amp without finesse (if that makes sense)- minus reverb/pedals etc. I also think your playing and selection of guitars would sound great through almost any amp This is one of the better reviews of this model I've been able to find. I'm not sure I would buy one- I may need to get an actual used amp from the 70's even with the 2 speakers and very heavy weight.

  • Getting rattles on a new amp that has been shipped x-country means there might be some loose nuts. Open the back and put a wrench to it. Can't hurt.

  • Great amp, sounds awesome, the lighter weight is cool, but for me at 73 yo, a Pro Reverb should be a 2×12 config. Man, that's how they were when released as part of the BF era amps and should be now. They could have dreamed up another, perhaps all new name for this guy. Now having said that, I fully get why Fender did this: For as long as I can remember ppl have complained about Fender never putting out a 6L6 version of the Deluxe Reverb. That's basically what you have here, a 6L6 Deluxe Reverb, albeit with a single channel which makes perfect sense. It took Fender a lot of years to "answer the mail" but it looks like they finally did! ????????????

  • if i didnt have my TM deluxe this would be considered. this amp probably sounds a bit better but thr 23 lb TM and bigger box are too good to beat. also u can patch the two channels and get some more tweaking/eq control

  • I could have used one back in 91’ when I bought a 78’ pro- reverb – that thing was heavy

  • I tried it out at a music store the other day and I thought it was great! The tonal range is so much better than amps like the Deluxe Reverb and Princeton, and it has a mid EQ knob!

  • Yeah my Deluxe Reverb has a little vibrational noise and so does my supersonic 22 —but not my 5E3

I use some of those tube rings and that kind of helps but I mean the tubes are like right there almost touching the speaker so I mean go figure

  • 7/2024: Good Day, again. I like it. Fender dumping the "normal channel" makes sense to me. Nice amp. Sounds Good. I always like listening to you play.
I still love your Dual Showman 2×15".
Thanks. Peace & Best Regards Always.

  • Actually bought this amp about a month ago, new. Like Matthew stated, i also didn't feel like it was a 40 watts, which is fine for me. Liked it a lot, especially the portability of it. It however failed on the 2nd set of its first gig. One 6L6 completely toasted, as well as power transformers. Tone wise, it was very ok, for a way too short period. Fender warranty is ok so i returned it. Back order for about 3 months, so i settled for a 65 DRRI, which i'm also very pleased with. Now see if it'll hold up. Regardless of the quality of my pro, very nice and honest review Matthew, best of luck to you, great player!
