Some of my favourite, non-clichéd beginner songs. I’ll be putting tabs and/or chord charts for some of these up on my Patreon page. (Of course I love the bloody Beatles really..!)

What are some of your favourite alternative beginner songs that fulfil some or all of my criteria? Let me know and I'll create a full list on the beginner's section of my site.
Hi Adrian, I’m currently working through your beginners course and loving.
Just a thought on an easy but nice beginners song Kirsten Hersh / Your Ghost is quite good fun to play around with.
And have you done or would you consider doing one for Big Wreck/ladylike?
Have you considered/done a follow-up with 10 NEW songs? More song tutorials, please. Enjoy and learn a lot from your videos! Thank you!
I'm glad Rumble made the list.
Ending on brown eyed girl ???? Well done, vintage Adrian ????
Yes please. ????
Ghost Rider by Suicide.
Love this video! Watched when I started playing, really nice to see it again couple years later. Would a amazing to have this for intermediate as well! thanks and especially songs to cover with a band.
Fade into You – Mazzy Star
Dude you play clean and amazing
A word of appreciation for your treatment of Walk on the Wild Side. All of the other video lessons play it in C, which, sure, that's the key the record's in. But Lou Reed plays it D-G pretty much everywhere else (at least from the 80s on) — and it's definitely better that way.
Queenhart mtp top choice !
A little late to the party, (just subscribed today), after watching another one of your vids. To come to this one, and find that our dearly missed Mr. Reed is song #1 – wow!
Mighty lemon drops
New York dolls looking for a kiss Johnny thunders
I always found Brown eyed girl actually hard to play. In over 40 years I never considered it a beginner's song. Am I overcomplicating it? Maybe you can do a tutorial on that?
I love your videos and I think you are an excellent guitar player. I've been playing guitar for over 40 years and I still learn little things from you. Thank you. With that being said your taste in music is questionable?
Most of the comments are from 3 and 4 years ago, saw one from 1 year ago, so hopefully this comment gets through.
Thank you for the video, I am definitely a beginner even though I bought my first guitar more than 30 years ago. I took a couple of lessons, really only learned what you just showed here, power chords. Then I practiced lead on my own for a few months, and unfortunately, life happened and I never kept up with playing.
So, after all of these years, I'm ready to start playing again. I feel this video will definitely help me get going, as it shows three or four chords, and the strumming used as you move between them. I am mainly looking to get good at rhythm first, really learn the chord shapes and moving between them.
Cool list…love Link Wray, Wilco and The Stooges. Why no Bob Dylan ?
Rumble!
Good video but too long. Better to break it up into shorter videos with no more than three songs. One video song is even better.
Yes. Walk on the Wild Side is good.
You think you can do better than "Brown Eyed Girl?"
No F Chords
You want super easy? Try Roadrunner by Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers. Pretty much two chords throughout. Someone may have mentioned this already.
As a low intermediate guitarist (really a singer but forced to play rhythm guitar in my new band!) I really appreciate these choices. You also have extraordinarily good taste!
Thanks love this
Excellent tunes
Great lesson, thanks so much.
Not everyone can use their Thumb like that… and your quite rude…
Very cool video. Congratulations.
Learning so much this is great.
Grateful to find this channel finally someone who has good.taste
