  • Guitar players seem to think that JCM800 amps are high gain, but they really are not. It's only when you crank the gain up to 10, and put a boost in front of the amp that you start to get the high gain tones out of it. Zakk has the Gain on ten, and uses an overdrive with the volume all the way up to push the input of the amp. Plus he add gain from the Overdrive pedal depending on how much gain he wants. Not to mention very high output EMG pickups in all his guitars. So, no, the JCM800 on it's own does not get into the modern high gain tones without a lot of help.

  • Would be nice to have more varied playing, not just bottom frets chugging

  • I still haven't found Marshall Major 200w clean/crunsh, John Frusciante/Blackmore , if anyone has this vst, send the link here, thank you! The Major is different from the plexi.

  • Sorry, I am new to the amp simulators world but… Say I find my amp and IR using NAM, how do I chain some virtual pedals on it? Should I do it inside my DAW or are there other tools? Thanks for any kind enlightening ????

  • Nice video man! and one question: why you didn't load the IR from NAM and instead you do it from Mikko2?

  • They all sound weak… they don't have tube response, there's no clarity in sound overall. Nothing will beat real amplifier

  • Do I need like monitors to hear the sound? I only have a lap top and I’m trying to get into modelers bc I don’t have an amp anymore

  • Why my guitar sounds so much different than yours using the same .nam profiles?

  • Anyone happen to know why the Fender Twin Pack isn't outputting anything for me?
All the other NAMs i tried worked just fine, but both from that pack just stay silent.

  • is nam just for heads and cabs or does it emulate effects pedals like harmonizer, d-tune, shimmer, wah, synths….etc etc ???
if not, does tonocracy do that ?
if not they are both useless to me. plus altho the software is free i see a lot of paid kits monthly subs that are very confusing for free software ????

  • Is it realistic to use this modeler live or do the latency/pc reliability factors rule it out?

  • Hi, im new to neural amp modeler, and im confused about importing impulse responses because NAM doesn support .wav files, how do i fix this problem?

  • Thanks for this. I have a question. Don't you take into account the info some "presets" have about the input level?
If your interface has 12dBu instrument inputs:

18.86-12 = 6.86, you have to LOWER the input in NAM Plugin to -6.86 dB for the capture to sound correct.

You always have the input level at 0

  • Why does everybody seem to like high gain profiles. I personally know nobody that plays guitar like that. Clean or light crunch is way nicer since you can just go from there. SRV, jimi, Derek trucks etc like isn't that how people want to sound?

  • Jesus…no high end allowed . You guys need better monitoring if you think some of these sound good.

  • The Jazz Chorus has always been popular with progressive type music. Like Yes, and Rush to name a few. What makes it great IRL is the sweet chorus built into it.

  • That Deluxe sounds so compressed!? Meh…That Dumble! hahaha, that is not a Dumble. Someone is trolling. I am a fan of most Dumble owners of note and their amps don't sound like that garbo…ugh…

  • I have a question , not a tech guy. I downloaded a few files from tone hunt, they are zipped files. How can I convert them to my PC to actually use?

  • Peavy Invective by SinMix ???????? …so full sound for Modern Metal.. awesome!!

  • Thanks for featuring my AC15! I’ve got more captures I’m working on too. I’ve A-B’d with the real head plenty and they’re basically identical. NAM really does it justice! Now I can be lazy and just load NAM instead of hooking it up haha. TB is Top Boost by the way. And I did take pictures of the knobs for these captures and I’m happy to share if anyone wants them.

  • I have a couple of spring reverb captures from this amp. Highly recommend the stereo version. Fender twin spring in stereo is shockingly good with this amp imho.
