  • On the Michael Jackson tune "I Want You Back", the guitarist tuned down one half step to Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb and then just played in the "A" position, ie the 5th fret home.

  • I can't believe you didn't mention the legendary Skip Pitts from DC who came up with the Shaft guitar part! That's him in the clip you showed. One of my all time favorites. You can see how cool he was – always smiling!
He also played those funky lines in Its Your Thing by the Isley Brothers. And you can hear him on Gene Chandler's live version of Rainbow recorded at the Regal Theater in Chicago. Skip is literally carrying the song. He was around 18 when he played on that song.
He also played with Wilson Pickett's road band. When Isaac Hayes called him to come to Memphis they needed a new guitar player right away. I knew the guys in the band and I was fortunate enough to get the call. Played with Pickett's band for five years!

  • This is great! The Motown songs has really good parts in every instrument. I really would like to know your chain specially for the sound in Let's Stay Together. Your guitar tone is really beautiful.

  • Great video but I didn't agree with the inclusion of superstition. The riff was played by stevie on clavinet which was fed through a wah wah pedal and multitracked to make it sound like a guitar. I was hoping that you could have included controversy by Prince or Le freak by nile rodgers/chic.

  • You keep me hangin' on – the Supremes with that killer riff. It's intro is so simple but very catchy too, it's based on the sos morse code. You got that album of the Supremes in your hands in the intro of your video so I expected it to be on your list.

  • 70' and 80's loud rock stuff obscured all of this culture and it was very bad for the music that came later

  • I clicked and waited for a song that didn't belong on the list, so I could clown you.

    Still waiting.
