The Byrds are my favourite group, so I have to mention them. Roger McGuinn's guitar break on Bells of Rhymney made me want to get a 12 string, and later I became aware of beautiful songs like One In a Hundred by ex-Byrd Gene Clark, where McGuinn's guitar work has a lovely, ethereal quality.
Just curious but what capo are you using on Hotel California? I can't seem to find one that works worth a flip.

I have always loved the sound of 12 string acoustics. The beginning of Closer To the Heart is a great example of the wonderful sound they have.
Where's '39
Golden Mile by Daniel Rossen (from Grizzly Bear) is an awesome 12 string tune. There's a high quality video of him playing it on KEXP. It's what inspired me to pick a 12 up.
