  • i bought a Traveler Aooustic Electric Ultralite on an auction. i put martin strings on it, and plugged it in. it's the worst sounding guitar i've ever played, both directly thru an amp or thru a pedal to try and adjust the tone. is it possible that a setup could fix this? it sounds very bad, like a cheap toy.

  • Wonderful review THANKS! for covering issues with the leg support. Per their web page the leather strap was added for store display by hanging. They suggest using wire cutters on the plastic tie wrap that holds the leather strap if the strap is not needed.

  • Nice review. My wife gave me this for Christmas. Blown away by the action, accuracy of its staying in tune. Not a great fan of the tuners. What I seriously don't like is how my hand naturally rest on the chord. That will add stress to the input but other than that. It really is a nice travel guitar. I still prefer my tacamini traveler as it doesn't need amplification where this does. Great practice guitar. Again, I enjoyed your review.

  • I bought the speedester model used 5 years ago and absolutely love it more than any other guitars I have owned.
    1- super light
    2- comfortable to play,
3- I could take it on a plane on board no problem at all.
4- it sounds amazing on my Bugera V2 tube amp.
    Con:
Restringing is really hard to do, then I ordered from the Traveller Guitar company their locking tuners…which I dont know why they dont stock them on their high end models. Stringing became a breeze.
The guitar is a little hard to get good amount of neck relief. May be it is only the one I have.
Other than that I am willing to buy another one in the future.

  • Hey Joe, Great review and I just bought the maple version second hand online. Did you ever get to play the ELECTRIC Ultra Light, like you said you hoped to? I can not find ANYTHING online to compare the two. Even on the Traveler website. To be honest I thought I was buying the electric and after I won the auction I realised there are the two Ultra Light categories by Traveler – Acoustic (Piezo) and Electric. However, I am happy with the acoustic revies I've heard/seen. Although if the electric offers all the acoustic does (sound) plus coil/mag pickup bite, I may be slightly niggled! Thanks.

  • Mr. Joe Hart thanks and congratulations for this review. To me it has been very useful. I was in doubt on purchasing or not this guitar but thanks to your fair explanations I've understood definitely more and more.

  • I have an electric one of them. they have updated the leg rest with a good rubber cover to stop the slip. the leg rest can be turned around to move the guitar to the left to over come that problem

  • Three years ago, I bought my son the traveler escape which is acoustic electric and a full body guitar.
I now want to get for him a belated birthday gift in the form of a guitar amp. Can you recommend any that go well
With the Traveler Guitar? A friend of mine in the music business tells me to get a six line spider amp which seems like I will get from Amazon.

  • What was the song in the beginning? I would love to be able to play that.
