  • You used the wrong glue for the artificial calluses. Elmer's is NOT the same as super glue.

You didn't let the string burn until it almost goes out. You're trying to heat the glass so that, when you drop it into the ice water, the heated glass will break. But, the glass definitely has to get hot enough. You'll also want to get some sandpaper and sand the rough edge of the broken glass so it doesn't cut you.

  • there's a book i used to have called the guitar fx cookbook. the sitar thing was there but you used a paperclip instead. works better than paper. didn't work great but still closer to the sitar sound.

  • If you want calluses then play your acoustic with 13's on it regularly and put 11's on your electric. It will be like playing wet spaghetti noodles!

  • Love seeing the Cole Clark Angel in one of the hack videos. Solid brand that doesn't get enough love on this side of the Pacific

  • 4:37 You didn't use super glue, Mr. Samurai. That's why they came right off. The plastic lids were so it would dry smooth, I'm assuming.

  • If you don’t have the springs handy for the tremolo pack, the best thing you can use is Teflon tape????????

  • Shot glass is always the best slide, especially for me i always misplace my bronze slide onstage..

  • I think the bottle caps were inspired by the story of Tony Iommi creating his own finger tips after he lost one in an industrial accident

  • When your fingers hurt from lack of callouses, play until they hurt, then put band aids (or tape) on them and keep playing. The bulk of the band aids will make you a more accurate player in the long run.

  • The first time I saw those springs they came with the trem bar I bought since my strat didn't come with one, and I immediately figured it out

  • Have to wonder if the first guy was a FrettedAmericana watcher, or if he came up with bouzouki tuning on his own

  • I'm really surprised you didn't know that (basically) open tuning.
Dolly Parton and any guitar player with big lunch hook finger nails tunes open like that to be able to play whole notes with 1 finger.

  • Boys? Girls play guitar! For 56 years, in my case. Tired of the “wife thinks you spend too much money on gear” stuff. Love this channel, other than that. Sammy G rocks!

  • Holy fuck Tik Tok is the softest shit, all the dudes look exactly how you'd think they would for a person who makes Tik Tok "hacks"

  • There was this one time that I turned the tone knob on my strat really quickly while the strings were sustaining and it made a pretty strong and legit "wah" sound.
Never really could figure out how to make that work again tho

  • About the one with the acoustic guitar sounding distorted, there is actually a classical guitar at school that does that. It's because there is some kind of buzz, so when played hard enough it actually does sound distorted. So it probably not specifically what you play it with, just how hard you manage to play it, and what guitar you have (have to be a quite bad classical guitar)

  • To any beginner scared of the painful fingers, listen. The more you play, the harder and more numb your fingers will get. You ever hike a long way for a long time? eventually you don't get blisters because your foot hardens up. It's exactly the same. The pain never passes a certain point and 1 or 2 days off in between 7 to 10 days of heavy playing will get them fingers rock hard.

  • honestly, that shot glass thing is pretty clevar. if you are at a bar, they will PROBABLY have a shot glass, so probably wouldn't be too hard to borrow one.

  • Love your videos. Learned lots of cool stuff on this channel. Did want to let you know that there's a massive difference between super glue and Elmer's glue. And while I'm not exactly condoning a "callus shortcut" I actually think the superglue might have worked better than you're giving credit.

  • You used the wrong glue for one , you used Elmer's lol the guy in the video totally didn't use Elmer's ???? maybe try that one again with super glue instead

    Reply
  • i believe they used super glue not Elmer's glue, while thats stupid in itself. itd probably work better as fake calluses ????
