I just use a TS to subtly add a little dirt to a clean rhythm, not really meant for lead though. If youre going past noon youre using a TS wrong and should get a stronger overdrive pedal for such uses.

Buying a Klon is unjustifiable. Plenty of guitarist can get that sound without a pedal
TS is soft clipping w/ compression. Klon is hard clipping w/ internal voltage boost for more headroom.
Generally I stack them. Klon (Way Huge's take on) in Tube Screamer.
The Tube Screamer seems to round off the sound a bit more. It’s just shy of “over the top”. It’s nice. The Klon…kicks its ass.

Part of what makes a Klon a Klon is putting it in a case that's about 20x the size that is necessary.
For the record, if you spent some time tweaking them, I'd be willing to bet you can make either one sound reasonably like the other in a blind test.
