Turning Fender and Peavey Bandit into a VOX!
Welcome to my review of the Tubesteader ROY pedal. The Roy from Tubsteader is designed to replicate the tones of the Top Boost channel on a VOX AC15 or AC30 amplifier. This pedal is a dual-channel design that can be set up for clean or higher gain rhythm or lead sounds.

Thanks for this review, the ROY seems like a great pedal. What are your thoughts on setting up a rig using just “amp in a box” pedals? If there are more out there that sound this good, it would really lighten the load going to gigs! Love the channel, keep up the good work.
What Vox tones?
very nice!
Great tones!
Don't go TOO close to the edge Shane! ???? ????
Awesome pedal! ????
btw i wanna ask what pedal do u recommend that makes AC/DC tone?
Man, love that opening jam! Very Marshall Tucker-esque!! ????
Where is the EF86????????
Not a VOX without the EF86! ????????????
Nice. Thanks, I'll be getting one of these since I don't have a Vox anymore. Happy new year.
Good pedal! happy to hear this fantastic Peavay Bandit 112 that i had many years ago! Transtube tech was a great drive!
Not sure what model of Vox that is supposed to emulate but I comes a little bit close IMO….. Nothing can really nail an ac30 sound via emulation try as they might
That tone cut is great. A control that can be used to stop the Vox sound from removing the fillings from your teeth!
im not really a vox man, but that sounded sick
"Vox in a box that rocks." ❤
Awesome – Can you do some Videos on Folks Home Studio Set ups – Running out of Space now have
1 marshall 2 Fenders 2 peaveys and some other stuff – better set up Sound proof Home Studio in the Back of the Garage
Just strengthening the walls – looking for ideas on how to do it best – working on it
Love how that intro track combined so many guitars. Seems you are rediscovering your PRS SE.
I like the sound and versatility of this pedal, just wish this one and many, many others were cheaper. I think we all like to experiment and mix things up a lot.
Looks great! I’ve got a hand-wired AC15 and it’s great (although bloody heavy)

These went into the front end of the amps Shane?
How would the pedal have gone as a pre-amp into the effects loop of the Peavey? So – guitar > pedal > FX input > power amp stage > speaker.
It's just something I've been thinking about with all these "amps in a pedal" – and you bypass the preamp and any colouration of sound that comes from that.
I hope you like this pedal. It totally transformed by Marshall, Peavey Bandit and Fender amp! Let me know what you think. Let me know what you think of the Vox sound and if you're a fan or not. Thanks for watching ????

Shane… Heads up!
it looks like this "ROY post" on your channel has been hijacked by some pirates pushing a money scam.
It sounds Fantastic. Really like your approach to pedal reviews!!
No love for the top boost on the ac10.
$300 isn’t too bad for what you get. It’s on the list
unfortunately too expensive for most of us. It sounds really good.
First in 2025!!!!????
