  • I have a Boss GT-8 and these all sound amazing compared to that. Might be time to upgrade!

  • Howdy from the USA. Love the channel and recently found it. I like how the questions are posed on behalf of the watcher to help us all understand in order to make a decision. Not just this video but he does this across the board which is a great thing to do for the viewers.

  • I don't know how they make the Valeton sound good in these videos.
I tried one, and every sound was very artificial, fake sounding and frankly, pretty awful.
Unfortunately, it's made me mistrust their other demos.

  • I tried to get into this new forum of floor modelers, but it is just not for me. I'm an old school rack guy, I grew up buying and using rack gear that fell out of fashion 20 years ago, I thought moving to this platform might be better, but I just don't like it. I found out I don't like the sound of an IR and a microphone simulation into an FRFR speaker. I ended up not needing any of the effects or cabinets in the modeler and started to just use it strictly as a preamp integrated with my existing rack gear and 2×12's with all the IR's and effects turned off. It sounded better to me like that, but I ended up selling it in favor of moving to the Synergy system, and have been so much happier with that platform overall. Also spent way too much time menu diving and spending too much time tweaking it to get it to sound halfway decent rather than actually playing.

  • Can I plug in one of these units in to my Orange combo amp or do I need a cabinet to use these?

  • Can any multi fx (other than power cab) can do amp in the room kind of sound thru frfr, not the sound of an amp recorded with a mic?

  • I used to have a medium size pedalboard that I carry around for shows with my band. But after awhile, its just tiring to switch pedal around especially when something goes wrong with one of the pedal or cable, it really hard to troubleshoot on the spot. I'm just using FM3 now to make my life easier and given the little time I have to focus and tinker around with my pedalboard now that I've grown older and need to spend more time for my family rather than spend hours on my pedalboard weekly.

  • What would you recommend or would it be at all possible to have a video comparing valeton200 VS Headrush Flex Prime?
I saw on a previous video you liked the HR MX5 sounds better but I see you use the Valeton a lot in the videos

  • As someone who saved their pennies to finally buy my dream rig (100W Mesa Roadster and 4×12 oversized cab, then later downgraded to a 2×12 for bass control) it always felt like a "don't meet your heroes" thing for me. I was constantly told "if you want better bass control and remove the flubbiness, you have to get this Overdrive." or "Try switching to EL34 or 6L6 tubes for this type of sonic profile." In a sense, yes, a real amp was "simpler" but it takes a good amount of money and time to tweak things until you get them JUST right. And thats for one genre of sounds. Then if you want sparkly cleans or twangy country, you've got to do it all over again; more money, more time. I like to play a lot of different styles, and that for me has been the nail in the coffin for traditional setups (and lack of infinite budget). I've been focused on modeling for a long time now and all my guitar influences use modeling as well. Now it doesnt matter what kind of genre, I can always mix things up while having the possibility of downloading profiles created by my favorite influences. I'm rarely at a loss for creative tinkering and expression.

  • No Helix? Feel like the vid is not genuine and just made to promote the Nano Cortex…. skip the video and buy the HX Stomp, not sponsored, just the truth.

  • Yooo, you do get overdrive reactivity to volume with cheaper units as well. Don't try and tell kids that only something like the QC does that. Even my old roland cube 60 did that on the modelling channel.

  • It is surprising to me how little consideration is given to having a microphone input. Being able to do the vocal processing and effects in the same box as the guitar effects is a huge saving and convenience for a singer/guitarists – which is surely the vast majority?

  • I have currently a ToneX One set up with two A-B-Y-pedals into the FX-loop of my EVH 5150 mk3 50w and I just love the versatility!
For the first time I have a Marshall JCM800 kinda sound out of that 5150 or just a super nice Mesa clean with some chorus on it.
Never was my Amp so versatile and it's all thanks to the ToneX One! Of course, this can be done with any Amp with an FX loop and any modeler.
The two ABY-pedals to split the ToneX from the 5150's pre-amp really are key here! I can switch between my real pre-amp and the ToneX at the push of two buttons 😀 <3

  • Because FX pedals get even better and better eventually any day now they are better than the real amp,

  • hum… To me muti FX units DONT have amps/cabs. Traditional Multi FX were all the reverb/delay/modulation FX (think the older TC G-Major or Alexis midiverbs). Drives wernt on them historically either. Once you add amps/cabs/irs etc your no longer looking at a multi FX unit – but a modelling unit. There is a distinct difference between the two terms to me. Maybe its my age……..

  • The hardware is here, they don't use it because .. milking… the software and simulation is a different topic.

  • Well, well, Dearest lovely Captain Lee and our wonderful Sir Digital John, leave it to you lovely chaps at Anderton's to come up with a most Superb idea for an effects episode. • I bought a Valeton gp200 based mostly on your videos and recommends. The more I use the more I love it. Sounds awesome with two amps for stereo effects. Thank you Lee and the guys ! ????

  • Just go with a full size ToneX. You'll have everything you need without overpaying like for QC or Kemper.

  • Hi!
My first processor is ZOOM 707 II. I must say, at that time (22 years ago, I think!) it was the best thing that happened in my life! Since then I can't live without an expression pedal – so I always have a WAH and WHAMMY, but recently I saw that BOSS made the GX 10 – a compact thing. And now, if there is no new guitar technical revolution, after the madness happening in my country, I will also buy this amazing device.
    Мира всем!

  • I've gone down the rabbit hole on these. Here are the top ones you should look into. Sub 600 range…

    1. Dimehead Nam Player ( absolute best sound quality)

    2.Boss GT1000 core ( great sound)

3.Helix Stomp models ( best for modeling and recording)

    4. Tonex (great sound)

    5. Boss ME90 ( if you need physical knobs)

    5. Mooer GE300LI ( good all around and has built in battery)B

  • Just get a amp w speaker emulation or a loadbox. Use your pedals in the effects loop. I’ve owned fractal and Kemper. Not impressed overall.

  • One more issue, can the people who design and develop these units make one that comprehensively caters to both acoustic guitar and electric guitar players. Most units I’ve seen tend to give you one or two token and very average acoustic sounds.

  • I love the sounds , but the thought of having to buy yet more speaker cabinets, update PA to a more powerful one, or purchasing FRFR cabinet sounds very expensive . I’ve not moved to modellers because of this and also the learning curves are often crazy. I would like a unit that plugs into my existing guitar amp, but this doesn’t appear simple to do and many people on YouTube seem to spend hours trying to dial in decent tones. A final thought, music stores seem so reluctant to spend time with you demonstrating how to connect and use these units that it puts me off . What do other people think?
