Great review, thanks very much!
Still love that guitar riff!
I have that exact same bass and have never had any rough fret issues. Maybe I've worn em down.
I have abused mine like Ike turner and it is as solid as the day I bought it.
I've used it on so many styles and always been able to dial it in, just takes a bit of tinkering. The signal is rediculously hot always have to have the volumes down.
I keep looking for a new bass but come back empty handed. I can't find that unicorn.
Great vid man
Great ???? job
I love my euro5lx, which I got almost 20 years ago, and my wings are solid figure maple, it's amber and, the store got Spector to put in an EMG pickup instead of theirs. I wish you went over the knobs, I keep forgetting which does what. I've just picked it up again a year or so ago after a good decade. Sad to think it went unplayed that long., but the kids come first.
Oh man!!..2300box,for a Bass with fretissues!!..no way????
Great review Bro. !!! I recently purchased a used 5 string Legend neck through and I agree with You. Although heavy as *&=$ the bass feels ,sounds and plays very well !!! I’m glad I didn’t leave this one in the store. This bass was the first time I remember learning of the Spector brand. Thanks and take care Bro. ????????⚔️????
Do you still have the bass? If so what’s your thoughts on the bass now?
Oh man that Reb Beach meets George Lynch opening riff is awesome! m/
Honestly Spectors sound best going in to Ampegs or Sansamps. They can get a great clean DI sound, but they really shine going into a tube amp.
does a bass review, instantly turns up the fucking guitar and has zero bass afterward.
Best basses EVER!
I have an ancient Spector NS2a…amazing bass…doesn't quite cut through and get dirty like my Ricky does, but an outstanding piece of gear.
Graphite reinforcement in the neck too
Well, at least you tried
When I bought back in 2006 it was 1200 buck which was a good price. And now it's a lil over 2k
I used to have that bass I fucking miss it . Sold it for cash that I needed
I appreciate getting a guitar player's perspective! The one drawback that makes me hesitate getting this bass is the restricted access to the 24th fret. The tone is crazy good though!
Did you or have you done anything with this riff? I love it!
Decent review. The bass is ok. But you should try a Schecter Hellraiser Extreme Bass. Less money better finish pre amp more versatile. You seemed really happy with your Schecter 9 string guitar thought this might be a good option for you. I personally own one and love it. It brings the METAL!!! m/
The intro is from Manowar, wariors of the wolrd 😀
I know it's a bit late to come with feedback, first – are you recording with a mic, or direct? I find that a mix of the 2 works great. Try with some bass distortion, preferably ones that allow a clean signal to come through as well, then give us a "in the mix" demo, where you EQ the bass so that it's actually audible. EMGs have that compressed midrange that actually shines on Spectors, is it the way they're built or I dunno, but they don't sound that good in other basses… Which means that if you don't use distortion you will get an inaudible bass just like someone mentioned below. All in all, I love these basses, never could afford one new though, they have that Pantera sound that I Love! Keep it up, you're almost there with bass reviews 🙂
Please do more bass reviews, though up the volume in the mix a bit.
Why do a "review" on a Bass just to drown it out soon as possible ?
How would you compare it to the NG2? If you were to keep just one, which one would that be? I currently own a NG2 and somebody is offering this Spector for a trade.
