  • The best no frills Gibson Les Paul . Joe must be mighty proud of you for getting that medal inlaid into your pride and joy. A very noble gesture from both of you. Now it's the most original Tribute out there and indeed a tribute to both of you.

  • That coin looks just the part in the Gibson Les Paul and they did an outstanding job it looks seamless. Very kind of Grandpa Joe who I think I bumped into in '3 Chord Dave's' live stream once or twice. ????

  • I’ve got 5 Gibson Les Pauls, including a Tribute, and it’s not going anywhere. I also just got my second Eastman SB59 and they are truly special guitars. Absolutely perfect out of the case. I don’t see those going anywhere, either. I would sell my Heritage H-150 or LP Deluxe before I would sell one of my Eastmans.

  • Wow! Looks really great and makes your LP a unique kind of a signature model…
    From Germany with best regards…

  • I've had stainless steel frets fitted to my USA Fender Stratocaster plus, and my Telecaster, and I can't hear the difference in sound, but I have seen Motorhead, and Saxon live many times, so my hearing isn't what it was?

  • What a great story – heartwarming, indeed. Congratz on the refit and that fantastic gift – what a quality job.

  • Holy smokes, they did an awesome job with the great gift you got from Joe.
Very nice you decided to have that done. That warms my heart.

  • Hi John. I know a lot of people don't like the thought of SS frets , don't know why maybe it's the vintage fraternity. But you're guitar Seems to have taken on a chime ???? type resonance that you dont seem to get normally with LP mahogany body and neck guitars. I like the ringing quality off SS frets., I suppose you could use its sound to enhance a particular passage in a song or if your band had more than one guitar player it would compliment the sound of the other guitarist like a 2 part harmony. Anyway don't mistake the SS frets for the sound of the ???? Sleigh ???? Bells, you never know what you mayn't get in your stocking ???? for Christmas ????????. Best Regards ???? for 2025 stay well and healthy. John.

  • congrats. Love the coin inlay. Looks excellent. My #1 stage guitar is my LP Standard 50's, and when I eventually need a fret job, I'll be doing stainless as well. Keep on rocking!

  • Nice. I'm taking my own guitar to my luthier's v soon for some mods and fine tuning. Spent plenty of time perusing all the 'better' instruments I might buy but decided that making what I already have more 'mine' with a little custom work will put paid to all that malarkey and at a fraction of the cost!

  • As an American I applaud Joe for giving you the coin, and you John for placing it on your LP. It’s in some way symbolic of our country’s alliance with the United Kingdom. And now that we have a new “old” president we can continue to carry on bailing the French out of trouble. Ha! But I digress. It looks great and if the SS frets make it smoother to play then so much the better.

  • I bet he missed a few heartbeats drilling that hole for the medalian. No matter how good you are, if that went wrong, it would be a disaster. Power tools and expensive guitars Argh

  • James has got some talent! Great tribute gift and a superb-sounding guitar now made totally unique, along with the stainless steel frets and Burstbucker pickups ????

  • Excellent John. The inlet coin turned out exceptionally well. The clear coat really makes it appear part of the guitar. A most interesting modification, and one that would not turn me off if I saw such a guitar used in a shop. in fact, it could make it more interesting.
