In this video, Sam is taking a look at the new Vox MV50 “Clean” model, a micro guitar amp head with output power and tone that defies it’s miniscule size!

Tonally, the MV50 CLEAN has been voiced to offer bright, natural sounding cleans with plenty of headroom…ideal for if you’re using pedals. It features a simple-to-use control panel with Treble, Bass and Volume knobs, a cool VU meter and offers up to 50 watt output…plug it into a 4×12″ cabinet and it’s definitely loud enough for gigging!

“Rock” and “AC” models also available, make sure to watch separate videos for those on our channel and check out the full range at your local Professional Music Technology!

  • Can you please let me know which speaker should be connected to this to get the full 50W output. I guess VOX BC112 is 75W. But it has an impedance of 8 Ohms. Does that mean that it will only deliver 25W?

  • These actually sound great for being a micro amp. I think I’m going to pick up the clean for a backup I can throw in my cable box. I don’t know why they put a handle that doubles the height but that’s easy to get rid of. It would be great on the pedalboard with the handle off.

  • Great amp, use it for all gigs, including playing over a full orchestra! Only in one band where it’s not loud enough, I’m sure it’d be ok if they’d just put a separate volume and gain.

  • Nice review – clear and succinct! …"That amp was on half volume" – I think your voice might have been too?!! 🙂

  • I bought one of these amps with the 8 inch cab a few weeks ago. now I'm an old 71 yr old guitar player who tends to shy away from all this technology (too hard for me). well I was amazed. I love it. haven't bothered with my mesa boogie since.

  • run an aggressive sounding pedal into the MV50 Clean should sound pretty decent, a Diezel VH4, Friedman BE-OD, Mesa Boogie Throttlebox EQ, MXR EVH5150, Wampler Pinnacle/Pinnacle Deluxe, Mad Professor 1, etc

  • Thanks Sam.
I have one of these and it makes a wonderful sound from an archtop with a single coil pickup. Jazzers might be wary of the lack of a Middle control, but I'd recommend giving it a go.
I would add that the BC108's two jack sockets are wired in parallel, so adding a second 8 Ohm cab will present 4 Ohms to the amp & enable the full 50 Watts.
