Wes Borland’s Live Gear Rundown

  • What a cool down to earth guy! I dont mind tech guys doing gear rundown, sometimes they are as interesting as the main guy, but you can tell Wes just loves his fans.

  • The story about the pedalboard is crazy. I would think the gods are out to get me at that point lol. Destroyed by both water and fire.

  • 5:37 – I howled at how unlucky that first pedal board was. First, water killed it; then fire.

A very Big Lebowski "Well, they finally did it. They killed my fucking car." moment.

  • Such an interesting, incredible guitarist paired with such a boring, non descript singer boggles the mind.

  • when wes was talking about the fires and losing pedals… lowkey broke my heart lol

  • Why weren't the guitars discussed? I wanted Wes to discuss the guitars. That's messed up.

  • Whatever my feelings about Limp Bizkit, in an era when everyone is jumping to emulators, I have to respect a guy who still rocks real amps.

  • Loving the efficiency and character of Wes' setup (I can imagine that his iconic tone has been stewing in the melting pot for decades????) and it's really an amazing opportunity to see a breakdown of the tangible amalgamation of that. I really appreciate the emphasis on frugality throughout his setup tour, and having resonated with that – I was even more delighted to see that he's rocking a Tudor Black Bay on his wrist. Classic, elegant, superb choice for an everyday timepiece that (relatively speaking) is an affordable asset and a cracker of an everyday watch. Respect!
I love coming across icons of industry who have the wealth/sponsors to just throw money at stuff for the sake of it, but don't. They remain frugal and pragmatic (much like the way I was raised) and I really value that. Just the vibes I'm getting from this short clip and the info Wes has given us – It's the "what I have is worth a whole lot to me because it's mine, I am going to take care of it and see it go the distance because I love what I've created and I worked hard tp be able to attain and build it" mindset.
Fix rather than replace, optimise logistically to avoid unnecessary overspend, it's just him and his guitar tech kludging their way through any challenges that may arise like two brothers/friends – rather than a purely business transaction void of passion. Stay humble my dude!! ???? Love from Namibia!

  • Love Wes but he's talking out of his neck during most of this. Which is weird because I thought he was pretty knowledgeable.

I own a VH4, I can tell you for an absolute fact you do not need to have two cabs running in parallel. That's the strangest thing I've ever heard, I've literally never seen a VH4 hooked up to two cabs in parallel before. I have no idea where he came up with that idea.
