  • Some people have asked what the speaker cabinet is. It is a 1971 Marshall 100 watt cabinet with four 25 watt Celestion greenbacks.

  • Ameteurs don't understand that you should fuck around with the equipment you have available to determine what sounds good.

For real, though. I was hoping this would be more informative.

  • Lovely. That is one heck of a lot of expertise concentrated in one room!
Thank you for allowing us to witness this!

  • Yeah well not everbody has the big place without neighbours around to blast a solid amp. Hiw about that???

  • Sadly, this is one of those situations where a successful person confuses causation and correlation because they assume that their success confirms their opinions.

The reality is that he’s a great player and amicable guy so its not hard to imagine he gets a lot of work.

  • We all know the risk of hearing media mermaids hired by someone to sell you something, so I think we are safe if we just remaining critical.
I believe that what they are trying to show us today, is how a pro that can improvise tunes is inspired to a particular style by each particular gear. Which is nice. I have heard about this phenomena before but I have never experienced it by myself since I cant improvise.

  • Orange never interested me…they look cheaply made…and and reminds me of an orange popsicle…orange crush drink…Ive changed my mind on those amps… now…Marshall's…Fender….stacks…
    Galien Krugers….senheisers mics…fanulous…

  • Pickup selector switch, amp gain eq knobs, different mics pickup different frequencies at different levels. Amateurs don't know this?

  • Terrific interview. The best yet. You cannot just play the guitar – you must also play the amp. Such beautiful playing. Rate five stars: 100 per cent. This tells the whole story.

  • Rick and I both said wooooo the same exact way whenever he hits that chiming part on the fender amp. lol wwooooo

  • “You could make a whole record with that amp” i don’t even know how to imagine being a person who thinks it’s unusual to use one amp for a whole record

  • Rick, I love your videos but please invest in a video camera gimbal. The camera was moving around so much in this video it's hard to watch. I'm sure the trolls will come after me but it's just a suggestion.

  • This video is a good example of why I play an acoustic guitar 95 percent of the time. I am not a 'session guy' and life is too short to worry about multiple amp heads, effects pedals , dirty sounds etc, ect.

  • What amateurs don't understand is they need to stop being poor and have a multi million dollar professional recording studio.

  • With all respect for Rick and Tim, the bad thing about these vids is that a lot of starting players don't have access to that type of gear.
It can make new players think that you only can sound good if you got enough $

It would not hurt that these pro's would try tho do some videos about working with cheap stuff.
Why? so younger, beginner players can get a good sound that motivates and sets the point of interest in learning to play.

don´t get me wrong, i don't say that cheap gear can sound as good as pro gear!
but those little gems of knowhow tweaking gear could change a lot

say, a $ 100 amp, a behringer ore other accessible cheap brand 7 EQ, dirt/distortion pedal, maybe a delay, what would you choose?
That would also be a opportunity to show what effect guitar playing skills, will do, maybe more than gear.

  • I understand that you can record 8 minutes of DUN DUN DUNNNNN, DERN DERN DERNNNNNNNNNN, CHUCKA and make a video about it

  • Hey old man you made it trough life. With your talent. Lucky old man. Never worked for a living. Escape life

  • That Park amp with the delay just sounded delicious. Also, for any budding guitarists, please don’t just assume that a great amp, modern or vintage, will make you sound good! Please keep in mind that Tim is a professional guitarist. He could make a $50 amp sound like a $1000 amp.

  • Park Amp – that was hot. In my opinion, the most beautiful overall tone. The Fender Deluxe was my second favorite (especially with a clean sound).

  • That was an awesome breakdown! Yes, you play what you hear. Just like some guitars you have to pull the sound out of them and work them a little. But other guitars you pick up pulls the sound out of you. When these things line up it truly is amazing.
I recently purchased a Gibson GA-95 RVT from the 60s and what an amazing sound. It’s like nothing I’ve ever played out of before. It’s great to experiment on Especially with no pedals.

  • One issue I have with my guitar playing is a wallet deficiency. Rock on brothers and sisters. The most important thing is to be having fun.????????

  • i haven’t enjoyed 17 minutes as much for a while. Mr Pearce seems just a lovely guy.

  • 70% of the tone being the speaker and playing them through various reverb and EQ settings to make the amps sound night and day must be the secret… whoops ????

    Reply
  • You can’t get them tones from a pedalboard…great session, Tims playing is phenomenal

  • The guy doing the handheld video on this shoot does not know how to shoot handheld video. He's all over the place – trailing pans, too much zooming, Rank amateur.
