  • If you can't take a good guitar, plug it into a good tube amp and make it sound good without a bunch of gadgets, maybe you should not be playing. Old school here.

  • Thanks for an excellent video Jayme. I am exploring setting up a pedal board for the first time ever, I have had a handful of pedals over the years, but its time to get serious.

  • Seems to me that you have so many pedals (specially compressors) your sound sounds "flat" and lacks dynamic and punch……But that's just my opinion, no harm meant! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • This gave me a good understanding of where to place my pedals & why. Even though my board is going to be pretty basic, it's still great to have the options & seeing what works. Thanks for the tips!

  • Hey Jayme, do you have any problems with a weak output signal? Seeing that your signal goes through so many pedals, I thought it might have suffered some signal loss in there.

  • Hello. I have and OCD pedal. It sounds great in my bass but it cut the lows… Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks!!

  • Hey Jayme, great tutorial! – I really like the VooDoo Lab Analog Chorus but for guitar, I prefer the BOSS CEB-3 for my bass. Just curious if you have any tip's-opinion/settings examples for the BOSS CEB-3. BTW I use the EWS Tri-Logic Pre-Amp, great pedal as well!

  • Jayme, you are a great bass player and I love the tunes I have found on youtube that you play on. But that pedal board has so much stuff to think about that could keep you so busy tweaking with the settings, that you don't have any time left to think about what it is that you are playing.
Maybe it is really worthwhile for recording original music that is geared to that but It doesn't sound that good to me in an isolated setting and I wonder how much it really would improve the sound on a "real world" gig.
Obviously you have your act totally together so that your gizmos don't keep you distracted from what you are supposed to be doing, but for many of us more "regular" bass players this seems to be a recipe for losing a gig quickly.

  • Do you find the volume pedal works the same with passive and active basses? I notice ernieball has passive and active versions

  • A question if I may: What is the purpose of recording a silent loop on the Ditto? When you record over it, the new loop keeps recording after it gets to the end of the measure (starting again at the beginning of the measure) until you punch out of the overdub… is that correct? Hope that makes sense. Thanks!

  • Hey Jayme. I just started getting interested in buying pedals to use at church. Which would you recommend as the essential startup pedals for a bassist?

  • I understand that pedals give you more control and I honestly wish I could afford a nice big pedalboard, but what's your take on the line 6 bass pod? I was given one back when i started playing and I'm curious as to what would be good to add to it or even replace it.

  • Hey man nice board and video. One thing I can tell you from personal experience is that Vp Jr (ESPECIALLY using the tuner out) is killing your tone. Unless you're using it constantly in every song (I couldn't see why ๐Ÿ™‚ you should try putting it in a little true bypass loop. I use the Keely but there's a ton of people making them now. I was shocked at what a difference it made when I took it out.

  • Phenomenal video, so many questions. So when you set up your EQ in ProTools, is it pretty straight forward? Or is there a secret to it. Also do you set up your other Source Audio pedals in ProTools at all? When you use the HH does it pick up the preamp nicely? Last question lol, if my bass amp head has a compression nob already do you still recommend a compression pedal? I really appreciate the feedback thank you and again awesome video ๐Ÿ™‚ย
