  • Their Satanic Majesties Request, Black And Blue and Emotional Rescue are the worst 3 Stones album for me.

  • I agree with your list for the most part but as for album covers, I don’t see what’s so bad about the dirty work album cover. Just very 80s. That’s all.

  • Undercover e Dirty Work considero os piores, mas Bridges to Babylon também acho fraco, com algumas poucas faixas boas.

  • Apart the live albums, there's only one boring album ,it's Satanic Majestics Request. And I don't like Paint It Black. And Doom and Gloom ,one tune of the "last"years is one of the best rock songs ever.

  • Undercover’s sound was terrible but I can play it all the way through and like some of the grittier songs, whereas I can’t play DW all the way through since there is too much garbage on it.

  • For me it's easy to answer this question : almost all the albums after the departure of Mick Taylor are the worst ! ????…with perhaps the exception of Black and blue ? ! ????

  • Mick is only a vocalist. He is not a singer.
Other vocalists: Mark knopler. Bob Dylan. Roger waters.

  • Worst Stones Album is the second side of Undercover. 🙂 Dirty Works and Steel Wheelws are actually pretty good. Considering the crap other artists released in the 80s those two are completely fine.

  • Hi Robert!
I think Hackney Diamonds is a pretty good Album.Yes, Mick is very good on vocals. But when i Listen to all that new songs on it, nothing left for me when it ends. I miss the soul and coolness in the songs, like they used to do it. So afterwhile i do not think about it at all and left no place in my mind. I can hear it 3 times at all and that is enough for me. All other Albums in this period seems to me like much more important. The Message on the HD Album is in my opinion too much for being successful in every point. It had to be "good".
I missed the r&b rawness of the Stones.
I am Stones Fan since 1982.

For this period this is my ranking:

    1. Steel Wheels
    2. Bridges to Babylon
    3. Bagger Bang
    4. Tattoo you
    5. Voodoo Lounge
    6. Dirty Work
    7. Hackney Diamonds
    8. Blue and Lonesome

  • Eigentlich waren die Rolling Stones nach Tattoo You" 1981, nicht mehr wirklich gut.
Nur war das bis dahin geschaffene Fundament so massiv, dass es noch locker die nächsten 50 Jahre halten wird.

  • I was a huge fan from their start. I lost interest in 1974. There were some good tracks on “ Black and Blue”. After that I stopped buying their records. It sounded like a constant repetition.

  • Everything after Exile was a let down but Expensive Winos are brilliant. Mick's BeeGees and Michael Jackson period did him for me.

  • They're all mediocre. They are the most overrated band in history. Like a half-ass blues cover band.

  • I am a huge Stones fan, the biggest there is. I can find even something on Dirty Work that I like and that's Had it With You. Great song, but I'm not particularly crazy about the rest of it.
I actually love Undercover Voodoo Lounge and Bridges to Babylon

  • I'll happily, repeatedly, listen to the Stones' supposedly worst albums. Perhaps people should listen to what the Stones play versus what they wish they'd play.

    Reply
  • With so many albums published, anybody can choose the worst by whatever criteria, so the poll is stupid.

  • At around the 4:40 mark you said Black and Blue came out right after Exile. Wha? I’m not trying to nitpick but as a serious Stones fan you gotta get that stuff right.

  • For me, the one I listen to least of all, in fact, almost never, is Bridges To Babylon (1997). It's the one with the least successful pieces in my opinion, with the necessary exceptions of course.

  • hackney diamonds problem is! The production! the terrible to much amount of delay and reverb distroys this album

  • Undercover is truly an underrated album. The album shows them being truly stretching. A shame it isn't rayed among their best.
