“Why JEFF BECK is the BEST guitarist EVER”: Kansas guitarist RICH WILLIAMS
Founding member of US rockers KANSAS, Rich Williams, explains why, out of thousands of amazing guitar players, he believes that JEFF BECK is the greatest guitar player there has ever been.
As a man who play songs such as ‘Carry On Wayward Son’ and ‘Dust in the Wind’ Rich knows a thing or two about the guitar, but admits he would be a quivering wreck if he’d ever had got the chance to meet Jeff. Jeff was a legendary guitarist for sure, creating some of the finest guitar sounds of all time.

I'm 70 years of age and I have seen Jeff in concert somewhere between 25 and 30 times in my lifetime. It wasn't until Oct. 2022 I finally met him. He was full of life, funny as hell and really nice to me. I thanked him for 55 years of pure joy. We spoke ,took pictures and he signed my Les Paul. Never could I imagine when we said goodbye that Jeff had 3 more months to the day on this earth. I always felt he would be here and playing just as good at 90. Bad Luck took him from us and the world of music will never be the same. There was only one and there will never be another Jeff Beck.
Jeff Beck was the GOATGuitarist IMO. Now I think Steve Morse is the best alive but Matteo Mancuso or Derek Trucks are right there as well.
He wasn't the best. That accolade goes to Steve Morse.
I've seen him 3 times. Once with Terry Bozio ( whom I also heard with Zappa) and various other other members of bands he made albums with. He was excellent in every concert.
Beck is swelling the volume button, while having unnatural control over the whammy bar.
Rich is also a great guitar player, Kansas is a brilliant band
Seen him with Bozzio, Paladino…..best live guitar sound.
Great interview with the extremely talented and humble Rich Williams, original Kansas are musical geniuses. ♥️
I think Tommy Bolin made a an impact on Jeff Beck.
Never fails as soon as some famous guitar player dies everyone jumps on the bandwagon
