  • I think the next grunge movement could be not having a genre. Check Ren for an example.

  • New grunge band. Tuba as bass, lindrum as drums, melodica as keys and super strat at 11 as lead.

  • You guys went off into space on the "new grunge" segment, but I kinda got the impression the question was about a movement that basically cleaned house, changed the status quo, and none of these things you mentioned really have the potential for upheaval grunge/alt did. And that's kind of the point. There isn't even an industry in place anymore to support that kind of tidal shift in music.

  • Case in point for Queer Music, EVERYONE METALHEAD ON EARTH, Wears Leather Daddy Bar gear due to ROb Halford… THAT is the basis of Metal fashion. We kinda left Demons and Skulls in the 80s

  • If you know me from FB chats, Chappell Roan is the first Pop star I have gotten into born after 1970! The Sapphic Pop is the new edge as being gay is the new "Satanic Panic" to conservatives. It NEO New WAve, Chappell is like Cyndi Lauper 40 years later…. Making music fun again, SHe brought Punk Culture to the Masses before any pop Punk band did. Twisted Sister was technically the first Drag Queen Metal Band, again, Early 80s, a dark time in need of fun! Also, live, Chappell Roan and her band are actually pretty heavy! …that glowing headstock, it looks like he's trying to peee on that Les Paul!

  • I been thinking about this and, rap was kinda the thing for alternative kids, that played out, but I think we need another Kurt and i think he hasn't been born yet. Top 40 still sux, but the industry shifted also, and ther is nothing rebel against musically besides everything sucks.

  • I remember the last days before grunge era as the “Every Rose Has its Thorn” era.

It was basically inescapable like Nickleback 10 years later

  • GLEnn Fricker is probably screaming at The screen "YOU NEED FRESH BASS STRINGS TO RECORD!!" if he's watching. You really do need a new set more often than bassists do.

  • I lost my sh*t when I picked up a Carvin 212 Bel Air tube amp for $240. I am blown away at how good the amp sounds.

  • Hey Ryan, i recently found a new(old) band that somehow never made a blip on my radar! Mourning Noise, steve zing from samhain and danzigs early hardcore band! Theyve got this weird sometimes surfy goth sound! But its sooo good! And season appropriate! I suggest you check em out!

  • Also, check out Failure if you havent heard them. Theyre carrying the grunge flag from the nineties until now, and their new stuff is amazing too.
