  • Beautiful guitar and Yamaha is second to none! Love the slightly warmer tones that are even projected with more resonance. I own 2 Yamahas LL-23J, LL-36 A.R.E. 2024, and have to stop at 3 (ok, maybe 4) and this one is really nice.

  • Oh man, this is such a fantastic video, thank you so much. Excellent playing, I'm a big fan since this second. Bought the guitar today here in Switzerland (before I saw your review, comparing it to some others)

  • I love to hear you play any guitar….when you're just playing chords up and down the neck and just playing runs and bit's and pieces of tunes. THANKS for your videos!

  • I'm glad you posted this so I can hear how good my own guitar sounds. I bought one of these on impulse last year, and now I'm trying to sell it. Not because I don't like it but because it's wasted on me. This is a great guitar. I started playing at 62, and for a few reasons will only ever be a strummer. You said this one isn't good for keeping up with bluegrass players on their dreadnoughts, but I'm not so sure about that. It is *loud*, too loud for a heavy-handed strummer like me. It needs to go to a flat- or finger-picker (or light handed strummer). I'm hoping someone in the Dallas area will buy it soon (I'll replace it with an FSX3; it's a bit "tamer").

  • I love Yamahas. However that back strip is not straight!! It’s off by about a 1/4 inch. I also have the same guitar (in natural) and its back strip is also crooked.
    Otherwise a great instrument.

  • John, I recently found your channel and greatly appreciate it. This is the exact guitar I would like. I am also considering a Blue Ridge BR243 all solid spruce with solid rosewood. The Blue Ridge sounds great and plays super easy with very low string tension. I have not been able to find any Yamaha L series anywhere, not even here in Nashville during my visit. Should I buy a Yamaha I never played or go with a Blue Ridge I have played and love?

  • The frets do not last forever…..wish they would put jumbo's in them….those medium frets last about 8 years if you play 4 or 5 times a week. Capo and they're worn out in three years. They should put stainless in and charge a bit more. I've refretted with stainless….it's not the pain in the ass that luthiars say. (They just want to charge alot more.) Flat is not the best setup for that guitar and a fishman….I got one of both. I put the treble at 1 o'clock, and mid's also at 1….the fishman/LL16 comes alive if you use a preamp….it needs a little more coming in. Sounds a lot better then this demo. The SRT is as good as it gets for a under saddle piezio.

  • Good info again, JP. And presented in great Canadian style, too. I've been shopping for a smaller guitar, I'm a Yamaha fan, and I love that chocolate coloured LS16. I just ordered one.
