Update: Due to selling this guitar to my friend and bassist for the Gilbert family, John, I won't be able to review the strings I mention in this video (D'Addario Nickel Bronze). However, they are very comparable to the Black Diamond Strings Nashville Bronze acoustic guitar strings, which I made a video for here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xobM2lb0gs
I have this guitar and it is really good for the price. You are right that the nut width is a bit wider than a lot of other guitars. But just slightly. Kinda cool how a small difference can feel very different when playing.
Fg820 is a bit deeper, warmer…
The guitar lacks bass but everything else is decent for that price.
I just bought one yesterday – I couldn’t believe the price. Beautiful playing and singing!! You have gorgeous voice!
I love my FG800. I had it professionally setup and it sounds great. I put a K&K mini pickup. It is my goto guitar and I take it everywhere when I go busking. Worth every penny!

A few notes… the neck back and sides are nato. Known as eastern mahogany with nearly identical tonal qualities. The fingerboard and bridge are walnut. And the saddle and nut are ureah. Excellent guitar that outperforms many guitars costing three times as much. Highly recommended.
I have a Yamaha FG-830 and it’s really nice. I’ve always heard Yamaha is a poor man’s Martin lol. But I have several guitars I have a Martin HD-35 I love.
One more comment the FG series has a 1 & 11/16 nut width with 11mm string spacing. My FS800 has the same specs, solid top laminate back and sides but has 10mm string spacing. I assume the different spacing is at the bridge. Love your videos but you won't find an all solid guitar for that kind of price. If you know of one I would love to hear back from you. The Yamaha FG 800 has laminated back and sides. From the factory the bone and nut are made of a sort of plastic that they use. I appreciate your video and don't mean to sound critical just wanted to clear that up for!

Sitka Spruce top with laminate Nato back and sides. I have the FG830. These are great guitars.
i've worked on a bunch of those yamaha FG guitars and all of them have been great sounding guitars! especially the red label ones.
I own a FG 800 absolutely love it ???? fantastic guitar ,blows me away how good it sounds and play for the money
