  • Using a mic defeats the purpose of dialling in the sound on the Yamaha amp. May just as well be using a Marshall with a mic.

  • Ive got a THR10 and an Epiphone Les Paul Studio. Ive never got close to the crunch or lead tones that you achieved and Ive concluded its likely to be the pickups which are no where near as punchy as the Gibson ones on their Les Pauls. I suppose you get what you pay for but what might be a good humbucker replacement set I could try to get closer to the Gibson? I thought about a P90 and something else????

  • As a new player with a Fender Player Plus Strat and a Yamaha THR10II this helps a lot. Only been playing a few months and this helps understand that bass gives you the nice breakup. Is this the same for Strat’s… I have the SSS but they are the Fender noiseless pickups?

  • Just come across this, good informative video, the yamaha thr is a fantastic amp, but worth mentioning that the eq controls work in a completely different way depending on which amp model used.

  • Hi

I would like to ask something else if you have time. I play 80's hairy metal. Tell me if the tones are better on the old 10 or 10x. What is the difference? 10x is for metal, but some say that regular 10 is better. And they gave the same tones on the 10x and on the new 10 ll . I ask because I read a review from some people who bought 10 ll, were dissatisfied and returned it to the store and say that they made a mistake by selling 10x. Tell me if you can get good tones with the Yamaha editor and if it is different from the Android version of the Yamaha library on Google Play. Have you tried the pedals and how they work. They gave better sounds than the Yamaha editor. I'm interested in getting JCM800 tones similar to this.

    Thank you
    kind regards????

  • The computer interface opens a wide range of settings, which may change depending on which cabinet is chosen, but you can make real tweaks to the compression, filters, delays, effects, reverb, all separately, set gain and master volume, then save as a custom preset of whatever name you want. When the cab is connected via USB, every change can be heard in nearly real time, and then pressing and holding one of the five preset buttons stores all those settings. You just press that button away from the computer, and even tho the dials lack those extra features, the stored settings are all there – just know that you can't make any further adjustments using the dials, except for Outputs; if you move even a treble knob, the custom settings revert to the current dial positions only, so be careful in a live performance. After tweaking custom settings on the computer, be sure to SAVE changes to the library, or they will vanish.

  • Hello. Thanks a lot for your great and really well explained video. As a 52 years old beginner with electric guitar (better to start older than never …) I'm about to receive my Christmas gift with a ThR 10 ii amp and a Squier contemporary HSS guitar. So your instructions to start how to use it are just perfect for me. I can't wait to receive all this and try to catch the Purple rain sound , you killed me here … My young era ! So thanks again, and keep safe.

  • Don't forget, the app gives you many more options as far as eq'ing, compression and cabinets.. this is a fantastic start. Great tone!

  • One of the "BEST", most Informative videos (with this Amp) on YouTube. You've been a "GREAT" help, thanks for all of your work and effort. I just ordered the THRII 30 Wireless, can't wait to get it. Wonderful job my friend…
