  • Damn. I'm a metal player and of course….zero metal in this demo. Don't they know a big chunk of guitarists want that high gain?! From 80s Dockken type guys to Ozzy, Iron maiden, Metallica etc etc.
Why not show that? Or atleast incorporate it in the amp. I own the Yamaha THR10X practice amp. The metal version. It's killer!!!
Can I get those tones with this amp?

  • This post is a few yrs old but just popped up on my feed. I have this. It’s a great modeler. Better than my kemper and Helix. Sorry but true. I have worked my way up to great amps so it’s not the only thing I have. I have a smallbox limited by Friedman, a Helios, and a few lunchbox amps. To the guy below whose complaining that it has no way to save a preset or it’s leftover stuff. Bullshit. You set it and that’s it. It sounds great as I said. You can set up 2 Marshall sounds going at the same time. Or one high gain one lower gain. Use them together or separate just hit the foot switch. It has a boost and reverb in the footswitch and u can add an aux in it. I don’t hook it up to a computer but if u do u can choose boost, tube screamer or ocd for pedal choices. It has a bunch of tube options that I hear the difference. Maybe he lost some of his hearing from playing too loud. It has a/b choices. Clean, crunch, tube, high gain etc and takes pedals. It’s overlooked I think due to price. I love it. And to the other guy saying it’s a commercial. Uh it’s a store. Just like the demo done for a store they are trying to sell their product. What’s the difference between this and Andertons? Nothing.

  • I can't help but wonder why Yamaha made a digital modeler with NO way to recall presets or save anything. Maybe the DSP chips in this aren't that strong as they are not working that hard, These must be old leftover POD XT DSp chips. I played one of these in the music store thru the Yamaha 2×12 stereo cab for this unit and changing the tube selector in the back made little if any difference in the sound. This is a shame as this is an interesting idea for a modeler, a basic, stripped down head but really . . . no memory at all? Yamaha blew the pickle on this one.
