You’ve Never Heard ANYTHING Like This Bass DI Before…

This week I bought a truly special bass DI. It’s called the Jule Monique Dove Cage.

The dove cage is handmade by the amazing folks at Jule Amps in California. There are all sorts of amazing bits of valve technology behind its incredible sound but, as a piece of gear, it’s incredibly simple to use. Exactly what I like!

Across the front, there are a few very self-explanatory dials. Line level, high, mid, low and sensitivity. Both the line level and sensitivity dials have push-pull switches. The one on the line level acts as a 10db boost and the sensitivity is engaged when the pot is pulled out.

Out of the box, it sounds incredible but for me, the best tone comes with the sensitivity dial engaged and placed around 3 o’clock. You get so much warmth and fullness coming out but it doesn’t sound processed. I’ve never heard anything before that can shape the sound of a bass so well and so strongly yet also sound so transparent.

In this video I describe it as making my p-bass sound like “my bass times infinity” and that really is what it does. It just makes a good thing sound even better!

I’ve added some playing demonstrations as well as demos of some of the different settings but I can honestly say I’ve never heard anything as good as this in my entire life!
